EVENT SUMMARY
An exciting challenge awaits you in the Summer Safari!
This small tournament has a loop of 6 safari holes. That loop will be played through 3 times (18 holes total). The 1st loop is holes 1a-6a on the scorecard, the 2nd loop is holes 1b-6b on the scorecard, and the 3rd loop is holes 1c-6c on the scorecard. For this layout, the total distance covered is 10,680' and par is 72.
Tee signs for all 6 safari holes, pictures of the mando trees, and a picture of right-side OB area on safari hole 4 can be viewed in the pictures tab of this tournament listing (click the 3 dots icon at the top right if viewing on mobile to reveal the pictures tab option).
The player roster is limited to 24 players with no waitlist. Players will be assigned a card (group) by the tournament director using the PDGA Tournament Manager website's group feature. This randomizes players onto cards predominantly with players from the same division. All cards will have a shotgun start at 10am.
LIMITED EARLY BIRD SPOTS FOR LOCALS
This will be my 4th year participating in my local bag tag league, so I want to show some love to the people in it. I will have 8 EARLY BIRD SPOTS available to players from my local bag tag league only who I will manually add to the player roster the day before registration goes live. Early bird spots claimed: 8/8
OPTIONAL PAID EXTRA
I will have 10 blue Lucid Junior Judges with light blue stamps available on a first come first served basis when registration opens (limit 1 per player). They are junior/macro-sized Judge putters in premium Lucid plastic. These PDGA-legal 15cm mini markers are out-of-production.
DIVISIONS
This tournament is for amateur divisions only. Please do not sign up for this event if your PDGA rating is above 970 at the time of the ratings update on July 9, 2024.

SCOREKEEPING
As of the latest PDGA rule update for scoring, which went into effect on January 1, 2024, all players are now required to keep score for their card during PDGA-sanctioned tournaments.
For smooth scoring during the round, players on a card should wait until all players on their card have arrived at the tee pad of the next hole (after all players on your card have completed the previous hole), and then have each player clearly say their score from the previous hole (one player at a time) until all scores have been recorded for the previous hole on the scorecard of every player in your group.
Ideally, all players who have a smartphone with data will keep score on the PDGA Live mobile app or on the PDGA Live scoring website (pdga.com/score). I will have paper scorecards and pens available for those who don't own a smartphone with data, and as a backup for every player in case PDGA Live has any outage issues.
At the completion of a round, for the benefit of all players, the hole-by-hole scores of each player should be read off one-by-one to ensure accuracy. This task should be performed by players, not by caddies.
FREE RAFFLE
There will be no trophies, but a free raffle will occur for the first 6 discs from the player pack disc pool for 6 different players. Those first 6 discs are extras above the 24 discs that allow every player to still pick one disc for their player pack disc. The first 6 discs will be chosen by a random number generator. A player's assigned number for the free raffle is the spot where their name resides when reading the player roster from top to bottom on the Disc Golf Scene tournament page.
PLAYER PACKS
The remaining normal 24 player pack discs in the player pack disc pool after the free raffle will be chosen by the players in order of lowest to highest finishing score for the event. Ties in score from different divisions go to the higher division first. If the tie is in the same division, then go by least bogey strokes, then by most birdie strokes (if tied on bogey strokes), and then by rock/paper/scissors (if tied on both bogey strokes and birdie strokes).
