The Torch Lake Disc Golf Course in Lake Linden is hosting a fun tournament on September 17. The tournament is running in conjunction with the Spooktember campout taking place in the Lake Linden Campground. The tournament will consist of two separate rounds. The first round begins at 5:00pm and the second after sunset at 9:00pm. The cost of the tournament is $3 for the 5:00pm round and 5 for the 9:00pm ground. The second round will be played in the dark and will include a free LED light for your disc. Additional lights may be available for purchase. My students and I are hosting a workday/celebration for our new disc golf course. We are putting in a 9 hole course with Discraft Chainstar baskets. Our course is/will be located behind the Lake Linden Village Park and Campground. If anyone is interested in stopping by to help us we will start work at 9:00 and will be working until 12:00. We are grilling hotdogs, having chips, salsa, salad, fruit, and baked goods for those who volunteer. At 1:00 The Bike Shop will be giving a free clinic to all of our new disc golfers.
