Good evening. Below you will find all the information about the upcoming Crossover Open III at County Farm DGC in Aurora, Indiana. We are super excited about this tournament and excited that you have registered to be part of it.
As we are a few days away from the event, we just wanted to send out a players info email. Hopefully this will have everything in it to answer any questions you may have.
Saturday, May 1st will be the AM only event and Sunday, May 2nd will be the PRO only event. Both events will play the same layout of 24 holes.
The gate will be opened, which will allow parking in the grass in the area next to the shelter. There is a public bathroom about a quarter of a mile down the road. There is no restroom on site at the course.
We will be playing 2 rounds, of shotgun start format for the day. We will play the regular 18 holes, with 6 temp holes. The course flows really well, and will probably be at least 3 hour rounds. The temp tees will be marked with pink flags, and will have "next" signs where needed.
Tournament central will be at shelter. The schedule will look like this:
8-840a - Player Check In
840a - Brief players meeting
9a - 1st round tee off
1 hour lunch break when cards submitted
Round 2
Awards and Ace Throw Off if not hit during the round
The lunch break in between rounds will be an hour from the submission of the last card. The Aurora Diner will be on site to grill and offer lunch foods. I don't have a menu/price list as of now, but when I do I will send it out. Where the course is located, there is a Subway about 15 minutes away, but that is about it other than gas station type food.
For all players who are in the ACE Fund, if it is not hit, we will do a throw off and the ACE Fund will be split 60/40 with the 2 closest discs/players.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and then a secondary form of scoring per card (Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: crossover
You should be able to see what hole you are starting on by Friday evening in PDGA event page.
There is no OB on the course. Please be aware and watch your cardmates throws. This course gives a lot of tempting over the top (some call them cheater lines, or non-traditional lines) lines. With a heavy volume of Cedar trees and bushes on holes,
discs get stuck up in them often. We are not playing the 2 meter rule. Make sure your cardmates agree on where to mark your disc below one stuck up in a tree/bush before you retrieve it. There are a few sinkholes on the property. If you land in one, you may take relief or play from it. If there is any water on the course with Thursday's rain, it's all played as casual.
Here's a hole by hole overview with potential questions:
#1 - none
#2 - none
#3 - sinkhole to the left of the basket
#4 - none
#5 - sinkhole marked by logs
#6 - none
#7 - none

#10 - sinkhole on the right about 30 feet in front of basket

#16 - none
#17 - none
#18 - none
#B - sinkhole in middle
#C - none
#D - none
#E - none
#F - none
#E - OB past logs on left
The baskets on the temp holes will be put out Friday morning.
I know some of you are going to want to know what par is for this layout. The par is set at 75.
We will group players in divisions with minimal mixing of cards for the first round. If there are divisions of 5 players, they may be divided up during round 1, and then placed together for round 2.
All Pro divisions will receive their payouts via PayPal and all AM's Crossover cash immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange in the Crossover Cash.
It's going to be a great day. Thank you for signing up to be a part of it. We look forward to seeing you all Saturday and Sunday. If for some reason you need to drop/withdraw, please do so by Friday night at 8p to receive a full refund.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Thanks and have a great rest of your week,
Josh and Cheryl
