Good Evening! We are just over a week out from the First tourney at Ross Park, the Rite of Flight! I'm very excited and I hope you all are too!
I know we have a few folks who have never really played organized disc golf before, so I'm going to link a couple of youtube videos you can watch, to get an understanding of what a tournament looks like, and help you understand what's going on.
This one has a little overlap from the first, but its about the rules that you should abide by when playing in a tournament! This is not a sanctioned tourney, but that doesn't mean you get to ignore the rules :)
The best tips I can give to be prepared are- 1. Play the course ahead of time if you never have before! I for one will be out there this coming week a couple times, to make sure nothing weird happens like a tree falling down or something! 2. Get to the tournament early, to allow yourself time to warm up, and get your hole assignments and ask any questions you may have. 3. Bring an extra pair of socks! One of my good friends told me that if you can change into some dry and comfy socks between rounds, it can do wonders for your overall mood!
Feel free to list any other tips you may know in the comments on this post!
