Don't forget to get me your $$ and let me know you're coming! Check out the event page here: https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/48970 to see if I have you down for week 1 - if you don't have a hole assignment, you aren't in yet. $8 for 2020 or 2021 ADGA members (if you 2020 members haven't renewed yet, the first two weeks are a grace period), $11 for non-members. Remember, ADGA membership gets you $3 off not only this league, but also the summer doubles league and any possible weeknight sanctioned singles leagues that might happen.
Reminder: we're doing a 12-ratings-point per stroke handicap for both courses. I'll do it off of the typical par rating for the course, which I think makes things easier to think about (but doesn't really matter - I did it off of 1000-rated for the Ace Pot last week). Westchester is 862, so that means that if you're 898-rated, you have a +3 handicap. There are two pools, with the cutoff at 880, which will mitigate the impact if the handicap turns out to be massively unfair to either high or low-rated players.
If you have any questions about how this works, feel free to ask below.
Can we get a preview of what people will be starting at?? Also, these are still pdga rated rounds??
They are still rated - they'll be going off of par, which is 862 (it doesn't particularly matter where we start). You'll start at +11 roughly (we'll go to one decimal spot). I looked at all the rounds from the past Westchester rounds to figure out that 12 ratings point per stroke makes this pretty fair across all ratings.
The handicap has nothing to do with the ratings, though - that's normal PDGA. This is just for the payouts.
Same time as last winter league? 11am?
Yep
Now that almost everyone is in, I've made this spreadsheet to display people's handicaps. A Pool and B Pool highlighted different colors: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15pb-zq2YRzagnoxVrDYeEzhwZrB9-8gaBBGxxq8GyIE/edit#gid=0
Joe? Did I miss the cutoff? Cash in my 10am?
