Week 2 - Davis Park

Hi folks, week 2 coming up fast. PLEASE get me your $ ahead of time via Venmo preferably (@joseph-caissie), or PayPal ([email redacted]). If you use PayPal, don't pay me unless you can figure out how to make "friends and family" work. If you don't do that, PayPal takes a fee off of the entry. It's a few cents at a time, but over the course of the 10-week league, it's going to cost me $50. You can also get me your $40 (new members) or $30 (renewing members) for 2021 ADGA membership.

I also haven't heard from three people who have payouts coming from week 1 - you need to make a PayPal or Venmo account (I prefer Venmo) so I can pay you.

Week 2 is looking good - sunny and 24. Pads will be clean! If you're new to snow golf, I want to encourage spotters - I suspect the snow is now deep enough to lose discs in.

I wouldn't be so sure the pads will be clear. We dumped a bag of ice melt yesterday but I didn't have enough for all the blue tees. With today's snow they'll be screwed again... : (

I have Friday off so I'll have time to get out there and give them a good scrape.

Also people, for ADGA memberships, please Paypal (FRIENDS AND FAMILY) [email redacted]. I can take your payments but it'll be cleaner if we just do them directly.

They may need ice melt again

I'll be out there later today

I’m looking to try out the winter league for the first time. Question tho, I put ribbons on my discs for winter so I’m wondering if anyone will have problems with this?

Jeremy Boyd   November 13, 2020 at 8:11pm

A few years ago the PDGA made it legal in sanctioned play to use LED lights on your discs for either glow rounds or rounds where snow is present. Using ribbons wasn't mentioned as a legal aid, but I wouldn't imagine anyone having an issue with it. Like Joe said though, spotting for each other is definitely encouraged during winter play.

I personally just use the discs I have taped up with lights and turn them on even when playing during daylight. It actually helps to find them even when it's light out, and if for some reason you can't find it you can return later when it's dark and locate it then.

If there’s no problems with ribbons then I’ll go aheand use them as they make finding discs in the snow so much easier.

Yeah, speaking as both the league manager and a competitor I have no problem with this.
