Amateur Players Accepting Cash
If an Amateur player accepts cash payouts for placing in a pro division, they will be classified as a professional by the PDGA. The player in question may still compete in amateur divisions at PDGA sanctioned A, B and C tier tournaments so long as their player rating falls within the requirements for their division (see: Pros Playing Am
https://www.pdga.com/files/divisions_ratings_and_points_factors_10-31-2019.pdf). However those players are not eligible to play in Amateur divisions in PDGA Majors such as, but not limited to Am Worlds or The US Amateur Disc Golf Championship (source:
https://www.pdga.com/faq/pdga-tour/accepting-cash-and-playing-in-amateur-divisons).
If you are an Amateur competing in the Gold division and would like to accept merchandise payouts to Great Lakes Disc instead of cash, please contact the Tournament Staff BEFORE the beginning of the first round so arrangements can be made. Anybody who does not clarify this before the beginning of the tournament will be given cash payouts at the end of the tournament.
