Chris Jackson and Rick Falstreau split the pot, each winning $27 with a straight! But....there was also another straight out there and they didn't notice (or speak up), so we actually had 3 winners. Mike Carlile also had a straight (A through 5), so I will be giving him $10 to account for his winning hand. Make sure you pay attention to your hands during the final week. It's hard to keep track of 15-18 hands at the end of the night.
For March it is a 5 week month and we will be doing a 5 Card Draw with Wild Cards. Before the first week's cards are pulled, 2 cards will be pulled from the deck to serve as Wild Cards during the whole month. If a Red Two is pulled, Two of Diamonds and Hearts will be wild, with the two black Twos (Spades and Clubs) staying as their true value. With two sets of Wild Cards and the Jokers (2 total) in the deck, that gives 6 total Wild Cards per week available. This should make some monster hands. But you will need to decide what your Wild Cards will actually be (if drawn) during that Final Week. What you declare you hand is will be final, and the best 5 card hand will be declared the winner.
Don't forget...In the instance that you miss a week, a "tentative" card will be pulled for you after all present players have gotten their card. Once you pay for that missed week, you will get to see your card.
I am also offering the opportunity to pay for all weeks ahead of time if needed. So if you want to pay the buy-in the first week (or the remainder at any given week), you are more than welcome to.
See you all Tuesday at 6:30 PM for practice, with league starting promptly at 7!!!
