Amateur division caps will be reevaluated on Friday, August 30th. This doesn't automatically mean spots are being added to your division. Divisions will be weighed based on current registration at that time. If you are currently on the waitlist, pay attention to your email tomorrow. If you are promoted, you will need to complete the registration process and answer some questions regarding the event and your selections.
Host Hotel
Host hotel will be the Sleep Inn in North Augusta, SC 2 minutes off exit 5 of I-20. ANY destination involved with the event will be from 8 minutes to 18 minutes from the host hotel. Reference code is "CLASSIC" so make sure you use that code when booking your stay to get the unbelievable rate of just $65 a night with continental hot breakfast.
This special rate is good for a king room or a double if you're traveling with someone. I personally went to the hotel and checked out the rooms. You will have everything you need for a clean and comfortable stay while you battle for your USDGC invitation or you’re A-Tier win. Here's the link to book your room but don't forget to mention the reference code "CLASSIC" when booking:
It isn’t a disc golf tournament in Augusta if Stillwater Taproom and Matt Flynn aren’t involved. Come on down to Stillwater Taproom on Friday between the hours of (TBD – I will email when time is confirmed) to check in early and have a beer. There may even be some live music going. You never know. There’s Nacho Mama’s right next door and they have some P-H-A-T ..FAT BURRITOS and awesome food. If you like a little spice, make sure to ask for some of the mango habanero salsa. Mmm that stuff is good.
Players Party/Flymart
Savannah River Brewing Co. is hosting this year’s players party and flymart. We have partnered with The Hive-Augusta and they will have food on site. There will be a 100% payout putting league going on, games, cornhole, vendors and much more. SRB also is a supporting sponsor of the event this year and ponied up $500. Please support them and all they have done for the event and Augusta disc golf in general. They have a great beer selection, house made soda and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Courses
We are working to prepare all courses for the event, and they are coming together. Langley Pond Park is nearing completion of the dam/spillway construction. This has increased the levels of construction at the park. Currently hole 10 has the basket and sleeve removed. Crews are in there with heavy equipment removing the old train trestle. Aiken County will notify me immediately when I can install the sleeve and basket again. The County is also doing 2 major cleanup and workdays on Wednesday, September 4th and Wednesday, September 11th. Please be mindful while practicing and skip a hole if they are working. They won’t be able to hear you if they are working. Be courteous, please!
Langley Pond Parking
We still don’t have our parking area and driving range back at Langley with all the construction. All players will need to enter the gravel road that passes by hole 18’s basket. I will have signs up that let you know “parking” and “no parking.” DO NOT PARK AT THE RED METAL MAINTENANCE AREA. The County needs to have access to the maintenance building in case of any emergencies at any of their parks. This area will be marked “NO PARKING.” Please proceed down the road and follow the signs. See the attached map of Langley Pond to help you with where to go.
Thank you all for your support of the 28th Augusta Disc Golf Classic driven by Innova! See everyone very soon.
