Sounds like a club member only tournament to me. 56 invites went out which leaves 40 spots. Only 20 spots for MA3 and 16 for MA2. Guess a player who would like to play their event doesn’t really have much of a chance to get in.
I know it's discouraging, I was in your position last year as I was not a member of the club at the time of the 2018 JO sign ups. I don't know the exact reason for the setup & division caps but, they the caps do come off after 03/11/19 and often that's when a good chunk of players ...

I don't know the exact reason for the setup & division caps but, they the caps do come off after 03/11/19 and often that's when a good chunk of players come off the wait list in MA2/MA3. Just for reference in the past 3 years both MA2 and MA3 have had fields with over 20 participants. Due the popularity of this event though I would sign up 01/15/19 even if you go on the wait list, at one point last year wait list was close to 40 people.
Totally agree Matt and Allen.Really makes it impossible for people out of town. Jacksonville has a good group of players for having a few courses and it would be great to grow the number of courses to allow for more players in this tournament. I have family in Jacksonville and want to throw this tournament and will try again this year to get in. Heck, I'd even pay double. Daniel mentions the 40 deep wait list which really makes all of our points. The Wait list only benefits local people that have the option to show up day of vs someone who has to book hotels and take of work and drive several hours. I was the 2nd person on the Wait list for MA1 last year but just cannot risk taking 4 days off work to drive from Missouri only to get there and not make it in and neither would anyone else who isn't local. It's a bummer, the good news is that there are plenty of other tournaments in Florida and Georgia and the rest of the country to throw. Sign up for those, and go support those if you don't make it in to this one. That will most likely be the case for me. It comes down to whomever has the fastest computer on Jan 15th. Good luck
Exactly. Can’t really expand on the event for the future when it’s mostly open to just club members.

We have increased the tournament cap to 120 players and the divisions accordingly
