fy ...am2 plays the same tees as ma40.
am3 would play tees as ma50.
if a ma50 wants to play longs north as an am2 player. they should have the opportinity to play an2 or ma40.
with that said
as a ma50 that i am. i should have the opportunity to play both courses from the short
like it was originally stated
with a rating over 935. that ma50 player should be playing his age group or am1. sorry for venting
"That" MA50 player with a rating over 935 is Mark. Mark is a friend of mine and is, in fact, playing his age group. If you don't like it vent to the PDGA for setting up the divisional requirements. Venting here solves nothing.
Donnie that's a very good point, and I am trying to take everyone's opinions into consideration, it is dangerous to do that but I want everyone to be as happy as they can. I will have the final decision made this evening.
When 3 players were signed up for the division 2 of them said they would prefer to play longs 1 time, I have not had enough interest to hold age division before. I am not 100% sure what ordinary is.
I understand the frustration from each side. I hear both sides and I will make a decision tonight.
Jaron I will support you as TD in whatever decision you make. IMHO I really don't get what all the hand wringing is all about. If you don't like playing longs then maybe thats an aspect of your game that needs to be worked on or if you don't want to play shorts then maybe your short game needs work...so use this tournament to your advantage and make yourself a better discer!
I have no issue with you changing it back to both shorts. I say go ahead as it makes sense per Donald's post above. I have no issue with you changing it back to both shorts. I say go ahead as it makes sense per Donald's post above. Just a couple comments as to why we suggested the change in the first place: 1) Lee and I were mis-informed that we needed to play in at least one AM50 tournament 2018 to be allowed to play in that division in the 2019 AM Nationals -- turns out that's not the case. 2) Since the very first time I ever played the north shorts a couple weeks ago and shot a -12, it felt a bit on the easy side to play both course shorts. After talking about this with Lee, we are happy to stay in AM50 and play both shorts and will certainly have a great time! Thanks for all your help with all this, Jaron... being a TD is never easy and you’re doing a great job!
There we have it folks.
Thanks for everyone understanding, you guys are all great to golf with and you will have a great day! Shorts from both courses
