Guys, this is prepay to try make the day go as smoothly as it can for YOU.
Cash-less Pre-Reg is meaningless when you have 15 no-shows and a 40 person walk-up. (Yes, it has happened) Then you're scrambling to finish registration, instead of having the players meeting and getting everyone started on time.
If you're serious about playing, you know what to do ;)
I could see your point if it were a sanctioned event but this is a fundraiser series and the only Frozen Fingers event that is demanding a Pre-registration. But I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay the extra few cents to pre-reg for a non sanctioned. Thanks for hosting, much appreciated!
As a TD I agree with you Andy, It is frustrating when players get frustrated because they have to wait. All of the events I run is No Cashless for that point exactly. Serious players will pay the extra $2 to play.
Yeah I agree with you both for sanctioned events when needing to know players pack ordering etc. But for a fundraising event when no other in the series are doing it and it's a season long points series the people who are going to play and in contention for overall points are going to come anyw ... more

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything as I'm a TD too so I get it but then I don't get it. If someone shows up day of event for this fundraiser are you going to turn them away? No... yet you and everyone else who was forced to over pay for the same event isn't right, in my opinion. Again I'm not trying to be a pain just don't understand it for this type of an event.
Sanctioned or Unsanctioned... It doesn't matter.. organization of a TD is key.
I disagree Dustin, completely
you're allowed to I'm not mad or hurt. We're adults having a discussion.
I'm not mad either. Text messages or online messages are 100% perception.

Hi Dustin, I understand and appreciate your opinion. We have done the cashless route for quite a few tournaments, and in my opinion, the cashless prereg is meaningless. Many people just don't show up if they don't feel like playing., without even the courtesy to say they aren't going to play. Then during reg, there are people waiting to see if they can play until end of reg, because you have to wait to honor the people who did "prereg". Honestly, I would be fine with cashless prereg if people didn't abuse it, I'm sure you have your share down that way too, I'll bet. To me, if you're going to register to play any type of event, it should come with a meaningful commitment and not empty promises. That's how it boils down for me after some years of experience. Since you were nice about it, and I don't completely disagree with you, I will change it up and try it one more time. Be well.
Good chance this fills, so all for preregistration! I'll be doing it again in 10 days for another event here ;)
