Scott Sprow  › WC Glow Presents: Daywalker Doubles   Sticky May 17, 2016 at 8:21pm

Planned tee assignments are as follows:
Pro/Am 1: Black/Black
Am2: Black/White
AM3 & Am 4: White/White
Masters (if any): White/White
Juniors (if any): Red/Red

Mixed: Men play Black/Black....Ladies, you have the option to play from Whites if you wish.

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:25pm

little confused by this. i thought you said intermediate would be whites? what does black/white mean?

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 12:26pm

Black are longs, whites are the intermediate(middle tees)....will go back and see what was discussed.

Brian Hyzertron Crouch   May 17, 2016 at 12:28pm

1 round from longs and 1 round from mids Brian

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 12:30pm

I think I see the confusion.....you had previously asked about tees (your comment was intermediates are from the whites) and when I replied, I said yes, intermediates ARE the whites, meaning whites and the middle tees.....I apologize for the confusion.

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:32pm

so longs first round and if we have time, 24 from short second but could be 18 short second due to time. yeah i thought it would just be all whites both rounds for intermediate

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:33pm

when i say shorts obviously i don't mean the juniors i mean whites

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 12:33pm

*whites are the middle tees

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:35pm

right so I'd intermediate shooting middle trees both rounds?

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:35pm

is*

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:41pm

guess i better practice longs if this means longs first round then eh?

Timmy Redman   May 17, 2016 at 12:49pm

Awesome! Am2 should play a round from longs. Keep us baggers honest Lol!

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 12:55pm

Am 2 will plan to play a round for longs(black) and a round from the mids(whites). The idea behind it is to get some difference between divisions....Am2 is the bridge between Am1 and Am 3, who often play very different tees. Most tournaments try to get AM2 some exposure to both sides of the long tee and shorter tee experience

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:58pm

for second round, if we can't play all 24 holes per your decision hopefully that's announced before the round so everyone plays the same holes. I'd imagine someone would be pissed if i got to play hole 14 and they're sales with C

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 12:59pm

sales= saddled

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 1:02pm

the decision to play 24 vs 18 will be made well in advance and everyone will know what holes are being played, I am not trying to hide anything. The tee assignments was something that was not listed earlier and that is my fault. I think there is plenty of daylight to play 24 and 24. Also, the idea o ... more

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 1:03pm

I appreciate all of your comments and questions. It is important to keep communication open and the questions being asked are likely also being wondered about by others.

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 1:08pm

it's no problem I'm pretty happy that i found out today it would be black/white over finding out Saturday

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 1:10pm

I would like to apologize for not being more clear early on.....Really should have had tee assignments placed in the description of the event when it was posted.

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 1:15pm

no worries. just means i have to get my partner or there to practice a round from longs since I've played it once and him zero. lol boost of confidence ha ha

Brett Piziali   May 17, 2016 at 7:31pm

wow mixed teams just got hosed. men play blacks both rounds and ladies gets whites (if they choose, why wouldn't they) so much for teams.

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 8:26pm

Thanks for the comment Brett....as stated above, these are planned tee assignments. This being our first event that features mixed teams, this is new for me(us). One our goals is to try and insure that everyone who is playing has a good time and enjoys their rounds of golf. Clearly we want to make ... more

Jessica Oleskie   May 17, 2016 at 8:44pm

Thanks brett I agree. Please revisit. I signed up to play with my partner. A specific layout should be set

Jessica Oleskie   May 17, 2016 at 8:44pm

I vote one round long one shorts

Jessica Oleskie   May 17, 2016 at 8:45pm

Or if my partner is going to do long/long so will I

Brett Piziali   May 17, 2016 at 9:11pm

I'm pretty sure all the layouts were up before I signed up. I knew I was playing blacks/whites and I'm pretty sure the mixed were cause I clearly remember saying to Phil we were playing the same layout.

Scott Sprow   May 17, 2016 at 10:44pm

Well, after looking back at everything that has been said regarding this event I noticed it we never really confirmed mixed teams layouts, but initially stated long/mid. Understanding that players may have signed up for mixed under that expectation, we should keep that for this weekend's event. Teammates will play from the same pads during the round to avoid any confusion.

Brian Sweet   May 17, 2016 at 11:15pm

where us everyone seeing the layouts besides the comments here? i looked at the about section, maybe I'm crazy but i had no clue until today. fine with it but i just looked through the about section and didn't see it. i must be blind

Brett Piziali   May 17, 2016 at 11:26pm

posted at the top of this post. also April 22 in the comments

Jessica Oleskie   May 18, 2016 at 12:57am

Thank you Scott! !!

Ashlee Beno   May 18, 2016 at 1:13pm

While I would like the advantage of playing the mids both rounds, I agree... Mixed teams should play the same teepads. White/black or white/white I don't really care. I'm still having nightmares of the longs from no foolin.

Brian Hyzertron Crouch   May 18, 2016 at 1:17pm

Well guys Scotts the one running this tourney and it's his choice. It's really not that big of a deal as long as everyone is playing the same format. It's just like if you have a girl partner at leagues and she gets to throw from shorts on holes that the guys are playing longs. Now let's have some fun!

Jessica Oleskie   May 18, 2016 at 6:42pm

Iv never played in a league where I got to play shorts while the guys played longs. It is disc golf, doesn't matter male or female. Iv always had to play same format

Brian Hyzertron Crouch   May 18, 2016 at 11:31pm

Hmmm I've seen that numerous times

Ashlee Beno   May 19, 2016 at 9:09am

Ive definitely played leagues where the girls got to play shorts when the guys play longs... Kensington does that. Either way I don't care, its Indy and its going to be a beautiful day!!

Jessica Oleskie   May 19, 2016 at 5:34pm

What!!! Ashlee that's insane ! Lol they do things way differently on that side of town lol it is going to be great golf!!!! Bangers are gonna bang!!!

Brian Hyzertron Crouch   May 19, 2016 at 8:30pm

They do that at cass league

Matt Lacey   May 20, 2016 at 12:13pm

For what it's worth, having a division that appears mostly comprised of Ams (Mixed Doubles), playing both men and women from Black Tees sounds like a 5-6 hour round. If there is complaint about different tees, why not just use the Whites? Blacks are 1000 rated teepads. I can guarantee anybody stuck with us (or behind) is in for a long first round from the blacks.

Scott Sprow   May 20, 2016 at 12:26pm

Thanks for the input Matt....we are trying to offer something that challenges and is enjoyable with all in this division...trying to find that happy medium.
