Ken--the future of the course is uncertain. As I said at the meeting, the DNR does not put the DG course as a high priority. The course has been forced to move/relocate/redesign annually. Seasonal changes to accomodate other user groups have caused confusion for first-time and returning golfers, vandalism to signs and tee pads has exhausted the club funds, reduced mowing, zero contributions from the park towards maintenance, signage or tee pads and an overwhelming workload on the volunters has made us question whether this property is the right one for a disc golf course.
No one want to see a course pulled (especially a course as scenic and challenging as the Fort). However; no one wants to play a constantly changing, substandard, hard to navigate course, either.
Suggestions are welcome. We will know more details in a few weeks.
