From Weds. July 1st to Sun. July 5th, Hilltop Disc Golf will be holding Alaska's first A-Tier Professional Disc Golf Association sanctioned tournament. We are in need of volunteers to help produce a stellar tournament. The ultimate success is dependent on its volunteer core.
With four hours or more each volunteer will receive a Volunteer Pack including a shirt, 4 disc golf passes, 5 ski lift passes for winter fun, and gift certificates. This pack is valued over $90. Shift meals will also be provided. On Weds. July 1 there will be a FREE Player and Volunteer Polynesian themed pig roast barbecue with games and prizes. Plus, if you are staying in Anchorage for 4th of July, you can watch the fireworks from the Hill!
Volunteer opportunities include:
Disc Spotters (this is the best way to watch to the competition)
OB Flaggers
Games asst. -- Long Drive competition, Speed Gun challenge, Ring of Fire, Putting Challenge
Players Party Friday night
Juniors division guides
Awards Ceremony asst,
Course refreshment stations supply
Tournament Central asst.
Course preparation (the week prior to the tournament).
We are asking for a minimum of 4 hours, but appreciate any time given to supporting King of the Hill.
This is a major sporting event for the Anchorage community as it's success will lead to Hilltop Disc Golf bidding for a Pro Worlds Championships bid in the next few years. A one week long Pro Worlds event held on 5 of Anchorages best courses and bringing up to 400-500 players and friends to the Anchorage area.
If you are not familiar with Disc Golf this is a GREAT opportunity to learn about the sport. Any help is greatly and most humbly appreciated. Please help spread the word. SHARE this post with family and friends, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, other sporting clubs, anyone who you think would like to help us generate our volunteer core. For those interested contact me by replying to this post or Private Message or the tournaments director Rick Cramer of Hilltop Ski Area email: [email redacted] or via phone 907.346.1446 ext. 240
Come join us at Hilltop to make this a monumental success! THANK YOU!
