We are looking for a limited number of spotters Friday - Sunday at the Toboggan. This is preferably an all day commitment however, if you cannot do a whole day we may be able to work you in. Because of the removal of the autumn olive on the course the number of spotters is much smaller than in years past. All spotters will be provided with a dri fit shirt, lunch, and some x out discs provided by Discraft. If you are interested in spotting for the event, please post here, indicating the days that you are available to spot. Thanks!
will you need spotters at Hudson Mills for the ams tournament
We will not.
will it be a first come first serve basis
actually no. people who yell me they are spotting would get preference over walk up, save people that have volunteered every year.
Really need spotters at Hudson imo, at least a few
I agree last year I helped spot at Hudson and there was a few holes that need help like the very long one and I think hole 18 is the one that goes over a river so they need help for that I think ams need some spotters to
We will not be providing spotters at Hudson Mills.
that really is a shame. going to be a lot of wasted time searching for discs... i was a spotter last year on 18 and we helped save a ton of time for most of the cards... i guess the rumors that they weren't happy about paying out all those misprints was true... if any course needs it, its hudson, not toboggan
The so-called rumors about paying out misprints for spotters is NOT true. Discraft is more than happy to assist on this and always has been. Things may have been "too loose" last year and we are tightening it up a little but that is not the reason. We are only going for a handful at the Toboggan. The blind tee shots and holes 1 - 3.
I played in a tournament this weekend. There were a few holes we needed a spotter for. Someone in the group went and spotted. That does and has always worked in situations when spotters are not supplied.
myself my brother and a friend will be able to spot all day for Saturday and Sunday
Thanks Raymond
Hey John, the picture shows a water bottle. Is this included or not? Either way it's another great pack. Thanks again.
Scott, yes. Please see Sticky above.

I do quite a bit of volunteer work in life, soup kitchens, community food banks, blighted area clean up...I never understood the idea of being entitled to free stuff or payment as part of the volunteer spirit. Whether Discraft is gracious enough to give away discs, should not come into play in the volunteer decision making process. I am more than a little surprised to read the above. I am sure Neil did not mean it the way I recieved it.
i most certainly did not mean it that way steve, at all. i couldn't see how you would perceive my hearing a rumor, as me being ungrateful... I'm sorry it some how came off that way
All good, Neil. I didn't really believe you were trying to be negative. Just trying to promote the volunteer spirit. We both know how much work guys like John and Mark put in and how much Discraft does for golfers in this area....I really was offering a backhanded compliment to them.
john and discreet get all of my compliments. they put in a hell of a lot of work and time into this, and mark does a great job backing john up. I'm looking forward to being a player this year as opposed to a worker.
I spotted last year at toboggan and would like to help on Friday and Sunday all day
Denny, Sounds good. I will contact you directly next week.
Good luck at the tournament Neil.
Friday spotters, I am asking for people to be at the Toboggan at 8:30am.
I'm available to spot from 830-4 on Friday. Shoot me an email if that works for you [email redacted]
Should work out fine. See you there
