Unfortunately when I have talked to the City in the past about it they have said that there is a very strong neighborhood contingent at that park that have complained when the city has gone in and trimmed up ANY of the bushes (mostly for safety and exposing homeless). Lots of tree-huggers that would probably fight to the death to protect their park. City wasn't interested in starting that battle yet.

We are also playing a bit of a waiting game as the City is in the middle of a Parks restructuring and all my past contacts are gone and I am trying to establish new connections with the current planners, maintenance and program people.
