Please don't just assume the worst about the City of Detroit. If the course was built and a strong outreach program was instituted to educate folks about the game, I think it could be successful and sustainable. Much like basketball and soccer, disc golf is an inexpensive sport and could be marketed quite well to inner city youth. This is also a self serving mission in my mind. I'd love to throw a few rounds on Belle Isle, grab some dinner in Greektown and then go see the Tigers in the evening. Sounds like a little slice of heaven to me.
