TD-I submitted this morning for a refund because I had to withdraw and you sent me $16. How is that right after you extended the sign up period til today at noon? If you change one, the other has to change too. Which means you’re willing to accept more money late but not give it back. Please advise on how that makes sense or seems fair to the DG Community? Thx GForce
All refunds follow pdga rules. 25% refund per those rules at this point. Unless you think I have misinterpreted the pdga rules?
So you are saying that you can change the sign up parameter, but not the refund parameter?
Glen, I reached out to the pdga. See their response:
Hi Ben,
Your 25% number comes from CM 1.03.E, which talks about withdrawals within 14 days of the start of the event.
However, CM 1.03.F talks about withdrawals within 48 hours of the start of play. Per 1.03.F, when a player wit ... more

Yeah the 48 hours rule in 1.03.F is new this year.

I never questioned that you were following the rules. And I understand the work from a TD standpoint…meaning the impact to changes as the event nears. My issue is that it is so easy to flippantly extend the sign up period for whatever reason, which causes work for the TD, bit the same consideration isn’t really offered on the other side for a withdrawal. 24hours notice for a C Teir is more than sufficient. It’s definitely enough time for you to add more people so the work load in my mind is equal. Note that this is not really about the money itself but the principle that adds are okay but withdrawals are an issue. Seems pretty open sided to me and also the TD has the ability to be as generous as they want. So, you do whatever you need to and I will re-act to that accordingly moving forward.
I’m not connected to this event, but I do notice that the TDs mentioned right from the outset on the “About” page that “All Refunds will follow the PDGA guidelines”.
