Couple of reasons: 1. We know based on number of entries how much is in the pot always and when thrown off everyone is involved and I know their entry was paid. Never a question on hitting an ace and wasn’t marked for ace pot 2. On courses that don’t have a lot of ace holes, players aren’t incentivized to mark ace pot so we end up throwing off for very little at the end. When starting at $0 in ace pot to start an event it’s hard to grow the pot if half mark ace pot 3. If the ace pot was continuous and wasn’t thrown off for at the end of each event, it would not be mandatory. Love to see AMs/Pros taking home real cash from the ace pot at the end of each event!
