For clarity to all who may not have experience with the PDGA ratings system, it’s not your score vs par that matters. It is your score relative to the scratch scoring average which is the score expected from a 1000 rated player. This is determined by ratings propagators who are playing your specific layout. Dividing the field into two layouts (on the tournament management side only) effectively allows the scratch scoring average to be calculated independently by propagators for ratings for a lower skilled level of player vs a higher skilled level of player.
