Welcome to Pelham Tuesday League! We had a total of 108 Players for Week 1 with 20 players (and 1 guest) joining league for the 1st time. Check in went smoothly and All players were accounted for on UDisc as well. Thank you all for your Cooperation with everything, it really makes the League Staff jobs easier with everyone's help.
This might get a little longer so sorry in advance.
Staff:
I am Bryant Chamberlin. I will be the one running most of the league rounds through out the season. If you every have any questions about the league or scores being entered incorrectly you can message me on FB. The fellow checking everyone in on the computer last night was Vijay Kakkad. Vijay has been in the league for 14 years! and running it for nearly as long. He may not be around every week but it is thanks to the program that he wrote that League is able to be run so smoothly and efficiently, especially on the back end with posting scores here on DGS. Dicky Smart was also seen behind the table last night helping out. If I am not the one at the computer checking everyone in, it'll probably be Dicky.
Thank Yous:
Huge shout out to our primary sponsor Breakin Chains Disc Golf Supplies for continuing to support us and donating hundreds each Season towards season end prizes. Make sure to visit the fully stocked Breakin Chains stores (Manchester, Dover and Nashua) or online at: https://www.facebook.com/373S.WillowSt/
BTW Breakin Chains 1st PDGA A-Tier Tournament of the year, The New England Amateur Disc Golf Championship, will be utilizing Muldoon for the 1st round of the MA1 and the MA age protected divisions. This is a great Amateur Tournament with $7500 in added prize value (funny money). The tournament runs from Friday May 17 - Sunday May 19. Check out the tournament on DGS https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/New_England_Amateur_Disc_Golf_Tournament_sponsored_by_Dynamic_Discs_2024
Another one of our great Sponsors, Nibbles Nuts (Ali Bourgault) can create all sorts of branded things (shirts, hats, towels, bottle openers, koozies you name it she can probably do it!) She currently has a League merch Website up with 25% of the profits benefiting the league! Please make sure you check it out and grab some sweet apparel. https://pelham-league.square.site/
If you need any custom dye jobs or just appreciate pretty colors on discs Chains Eye Candy (Shane Piroso) can probably hook you up. Shane usually donates a CTP each week and they look amazing.
Union Square Disc Golf (Ryan Pernice) is another fantastic sponsor who brings out CTP prizes. Union Squares shop can be located in Milford and Ryan runs a few few tournaments that will occur at Muldoon this year.
Also Big thanks to Andrew Andrasik for all his hard work with the new Basket Project, and general course cleanups.
Thank you to Pelham Parks and Rec and Director Brian Johnson for allowing us to use the Park for our league night.
Changes for the 2024 Season:
There are a few changes for the 2024 Season. The 1st and most important change if that there will be a $1 per session fee that will help boost season payouts, course improvement funds and season end party. With this change the Ace/Birdie/CTP will now be paid out in full and will no longer take 25% for season end payouts.
The 2nd Change is that the Ace Pot will now be $2/week. This increase, coupled with ace/birdie/ctp fully paying out, will mean that even with a fresh Ace pot and splitting an ace pot the payout should be much more substantial than years past.
The Final Major Change for this season: Multiple Divisions! The test that I ran with the week 1 scores and divisions was successful with out a major update to Vijay's program so we can have multiple divisions. We will use 2 Mixed Divisions with the Division codes of MA1 and MA2, The Ladies division will use the FA1 code. These codes are not necessarily the PDGA
Division designations, they are more of a Tier 1 and Tier 2 type thing. Currently I took anyone who shot 58 or better and put them in MA1, all the ladies in FA1 and everyone else in MA2. I will be asking next week at league what your preferred division will be. IF someone in the MA2 division is crushing it and clearly doesn't belong there we will look into moving them up, so please be honest and realistic with these options.
Parking Lot:
We are not the Only ones using the park. Please Drive safely in the parking lot. Do not Give the Parents of the sports kids a reason to complain about us. Park as tightly as you can in the parking lot and please do not block the gate.
Check-In:
Please make sure you check in at the Table by hole 5. I will be there by 4:30 every week, most times I am there around 4. All players must be signed in at the TABLE by 5:25. Checking in only on UDisc will not get you onto a card. Plus, we now have the $1 session fee that needs to be paid.
Scores:
With UDisc only 1 player needs to keep score, however it creates a Live score card that any one on the card can go in and see the scores. Please make sure you are starting UDisc on the Correct hole. (If you start on the wrong hole accidently the starting hole can be updated in UDisc, Putting scores in on the correct hole is how we track the Birdie pot. Scores still need to be turned in at the table after the round so that I can get them into the program to import them to Disc Golf Scene. UDisc and DGS do not talk to each other 2 totally separate things..
OB's that we will be using for league are as follows:
Hole 1 - Pond left side (white stakes coming soon)
Hole 2 - Pond left side (Hole 1) and Pond Deep (marked by white stakes)
Hole 3 - Pond right side (Hole 1's Pond)

Hole 13 - None
Hole 14 - None

Trash:
Muldoon is a Carry in Carry out course. there are trash barrels in the parking lot. The Course is currently looking amazing with very little to no Trash. Lets keep it that way. Every few weeks we will have a coordinated clean up effort during league.
Dogs:
Currently the league has had no major issues with dogs, but we have had minor complaints in he past. If your dogs effect your pace of play please leave them home. If your dogs are not friendly with people and other dogs please leave them at home. If you cannot clean up after your dogs or are going to leave plastic bags of dog poop scattered about the course please leave them at home.
