Jacob Stahl  › 2023 Disc Baron Series: Disc Baron Birthday Bash   October 28, 2023 at 7:22pm

Welcome to the Disc Baron Birthday Bash, presented by Disc Baron!

Thank you to our sponsors: Disc Baron and Fallasburg Winter League
Thank you to all the city, park and tourney staff for making this happen!
Thank you to all the players for signing up and letting us put this event on for you.

This will serve as the players meeting for the event. There will not be an in-person players meeting. If you have any questions, please address these at the time of check-in.

Basic Information
CHECK-IN IS FROM 8:00-8:45. Please see Disc Baron at tourney central under the canopies to check in, pick up your player’s pack, get into Ace Pool, 50/50 or Ace Bounty if you haven’t already. Please be sure to check in before 8:45.
TEE OFF FOR ROUND 1 WILL BE 9:00
Two horns will blow for 2 minutes at 8:58, followed by one horn at 9:00 for Tee Off. This will also be used for starting the 2nd round.
Your hole assignments are live and can be found on the PDGA Event Page or through the Live Scoring System
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/74904
Weather - There may be a possibility of bad weather. We will be monitoring the weather and any lightning activity. Should we need to stop play, we will blow the horn 3 times. Immediately mark your lie and leave the course. We will notify players once play will resume and 3 horns will be used again to start play once the weather stoppage time has passed.
Water - Water will be available at Hole 1 and between Holes 7 & 8
Groups of 3 - We will be utilizing groups of 3 given the low turnout for this event. If you happen to start the 1st or 2nd round with only 2 players showing up from your card, your card will need to split with 1 player going to the closet card in front of your start hole and the other player going to the closest card behind your start hole. You will then play out your round with the other groups from the event.
Ace Pool - We will be using a CTP on Hole 10 in place of the Ace Pool Throw Off. If no one hits a paid ace during the round, the winner of this CTP will receive the Ace Pool. If a paid ace is hit during the round, this CTP will be null and void. This is only eligible for those players who paid in.
Ace Bounty Hole - If you opted to pay into the Ace Bounty, that is on hole 11. This must be filmed to claim your $250 Disc Baron voucher. This is only eligible for those players who paid in.
50/50 - If you opted to pay into the 50/50, that is on hole 3. This is only eligible for those players who paid in.
CTP/LP Prizes - CTP/LP flags will be out for BOTH ROUNDS.
PLEASE BE SURE to bring in all Prize Flags after the 2nd round.
You MUST be present to collect your CTP/LP prize. We will not hold or ship these prizes.
C Tier (AMs Only) - This is a PDGA C Tier Sanctioned event for the Am Divisions Only. All PDGA rules will be enforced and it is solely the player’s responsibility for knowing and abiding by those rules.

Hole 1 - Parking Area & Water
Hole 2 - Water

Provisional - If there is a question regarding the lie of one of your shots, players are highly recommended to using a Provisional Throw. As defined by the PDGA, "A provisional throw is used when a player disagrees with the group’s ruling and no Official is available, or when it might save time in case of a possible lost or OB disc, or missed mandatory. Provisional throws allow play to continue by deferring the ruling until the status of the disc in question can be determined, or an Official is available to settle the matter. In the case where a ruling is disputed or uncertain, a player may have to play out from both the original and the provisional throws, essentially completing two legs. Once a ruling has been made, only the throws for the correct leg are counted."

Hole assignments will also be available at tourney central.
We will have paper score cards on hand and we always recommend keeping a back up in case of any technical issues. Paper score cards do not need to be turned in unless there is an issue with the live scoring system.
To access live scoring, go to pdga.com/score
Password: BDAY

Lunch
No lunch will be offered on site. Please plan accordingly.
The official tee time for the 2nd round will be set once the last card has been finalized on live scoring. Lunch will last 60 minutes from the last card.
An official tee time cannot be provided until all cards are finished. If asked for a 2nd Round Tee before all cards are finished, please understand that we will let you know that cards are still out and that you have at least 1 hour until start of the 2nd round.
Once 2nd round start time if official, we will post this on Discgolfscene as well as in the PDGA Live system

Payouts
Payouts will be provided using the standard PDGA payout scale.
MPO Payouts, 50/50 and Ace Pool will all be paid via Cash. If you prefer it sent via Paypal, please let us know.
Amateur payouts will be provided by Disc Baron in the form of vouchers to the Disc Baron Brick & Mortar and online store www.discbaron.com. Vouchers will be distributed to the email used for registration. These will be sent Monday. Payouts must be claimed online or in store. Winners will have until 4/29/24 to redeem their vouchers. Vouchers must be used in one transaction and no change will be provided.

Raffle
Raffle “tickets" for a chance to win a Zuca Cart and several other amazing prizes will be available until the start of your 2nd round at tournament central.
For the raffle - Instead of using actual raffle tickets, we will be using a numbered list and a random number generator to determine the winner of the raffle prizes. The raffle “ticket” that you received as a part of your registration has already been allocated and anyone who purchases additional “tickets” will be added to this list.
You must be present to collect your raffle prize. We will not hold or ship prizes for people who leave before the raffle is held. (With the exception if you happen to be still on the course or you have someone collecting the prize for you)

Trophies
If you win your division, we will be providing personalized trophies this year for events. Our goal is to have the trophies included with your payouts when they are redeemed. If you happen to redeem your payout before we get these in, we will be sure to mail this to you. Please allow approx a week, two at the most to get these to you.

Lastly, things to bring or consider
