How can player number go from 500 to 501 if registration has closed??

Often the case is that people can withdraw, which reduces the number before someone is manually activated from the waitlist a little later.

But it only went up in count. From 500-501.

It went from 500 to 501 because we had a player added because they reached out with a registration error problem prior to registration closing (for an available spot) but we were all working on the recovery of Amateur/Jr and didn't get back to them until well after registration was already closed, so it was not their fault. We took the payment manually and added them earlier today.
