Thank you for participating in the SOMO SNO BOWL, LVDC’s biggest charity event of the year!!
This Saturday, 1/28/23, around 200 disc golfers will gather at South Mountain DGC in Bethlehem to play the sport that has given us so much so that we can give back to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley!
This event is snow or shine! In true Ice Bowl fashion, “No Wimps, No Whiners!” We play in whatever weather to benefit the charity. It is going to be a cold and windy, so dress accordingly!
Registration closes Wednesday night at 8 pm. If you decide to drop from the event after registration closes, your entry fees will be donated to the charity. Thank you for that!
Tee times starting every 15 minutes beginning at 8am. Parking may be limited depending your tee time and any incoming weather prior to the event. Carpool if possible, to help save space in the lot. There will be a port a john on site for those who may need to use it.
Check in will be at the lower pavilion. Please be sure to check in your group PRIOR to your tee time.
This event is classified as a PDGA sanctioned XC-tier event. That means the round will be rated and you will get points; PDGA guidelines are encouraged. However, we all know this is a fun event for a good cause. Remember to keep your group moving! With this many people playing the course it is important to watch your shots and your cardmates shots to avoid time spent on lost disc's. If you cannot locate your disc within 3 minutes re-throw from your previous lie.
We will be using PDGA scoring for this event. We have been allotted 6-somes so 2 people from each group will have to keep online scoring. Due to the cold, you may benefit from a battery extender or at least charge your phone completely the night before. If you are one of the few groups of more than 12, the odd person will need to keep paper scoring to be entered later OR gather a minimum of 2 other people and make a score card in PDGA.
To keep score day of go to pdga.com/score our Access code is: somo (all lowercase) Cell services is limited at the mountain, especially in the parking lot, mainly Verizon.
We will be playing ALL WHITE TEEs to short baskets. 18 holes par 54. Parking lot and road leading into it are OB. Inside fence of the Water tower is OB. The road going up to the pavilions is not OB.
If you did not opt in for the Ace Pot during registration, you can do so day of for $5. There will be an envelope at check-in, please put your money in and write name on front. If no one hits an Ace, the money will go to the charity!!! So its ok to just miss!!!
