I have played this event the last 2 years. Traveling from Michigan, I have really pushed this event amongst my piers because of the access you have to the pro side. HOWEVER, we have ALWAYS had access to the pros as a player. You aren't ADDING anything more to the access this year for players.
We don't get to play Disc Side of Heaven REC this year, why is that???? Kind of the draw to playing this tournament if you ask me. We also had payouts the last two years. Even at your flex events, so does that mean those are trophy only now too?
The players pack the last 2 years was AWESOME. I am a traveling amateur who wants to shadow the pro events as much as possible, the fact that there is no pay out for an A tier event AND I don't get to play DSH, this might be a pass this year. Sad, because I LOVE this event!

Several questions regarding not playing the Rec Course this year. Here are the details: Each year as the tournament grows, we have to add more things to Tournament Central. Tournament Central is a small area, and with more spectators, more media, larger warmup area, more food vendors, etc, space is at a premium. When we run the AM Side on the Rec Course, that adds 72 players and their spectators to that cramped area. The Pro Side has just become too big to handle that and the AM Side running on the property at the same time. (This is a good thing) Our choices were to move the AM Side to a different weekend like many other DGPT events do, or to move the AMs off of the Rec Side. Either way, people would not have been happy. We chose to keep it the same weekend and to run the Flex starts on the Rec Side. By doing this, it will help keep the congestion down. This gives you the option of playing the Rec Side if you want to, without forcing 72 players teeing off at the same time. Brad Pietz Disc Side of Heaven Owner Pro Side TD
I figured this was the case, I understand. Just disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed Rec/Craighead combo. I travel to a lot of tournaments and the draw for Jonesboro was being able to play along side the pros at Disc Side of Heaven. Thank you for your response. :)
I hear you Todd. Hopefully you will still make the trip and enjoy the weeks activities. Come by and say hello at the Prodigy Tent.
The 72 people are teeing off at 18 different holes they are not all at tournament central! And what about when the rec tournament is over , now most of those 72 people are at tournament central watching the pros, so how is that different ?
