We are less than a week away from the Veterans for Vets tournament at Adams Hollow, and I wanted to reach out to give you all a few preliminary details and to say a huge THANK YOU to all who have signed up!
We will be playing Adams Hollow in whichever layout it happens to be in come next Friday. I wanted to make sure every dollar was able to go to our veteran organization, so I opted out of paying to have the course closed down and baskets moved at our request.
That being said, I will be walking the course on Thursday morning and assigning pars based on basket position. I'll also update UDisc with the current layout so you can choose "Main" on Friday, and the positions should be accurate.
OB will be standard for the course: property fences and the sidewalk running along the water by 8 and 9, and beyond. If for any reason, there are areas of OB not clearly defined by these descriptions, I will mark them with flags. I will also assess if any mandos or additional OB need to be put in for safety; those will also be clearly marked.
If 15 is in the short position, I will be flagging an island around it. Drives outside the island will play as a hazard. If it's in any other position, we'll play it straight up.
We have officially sold out of player packs (and they just arrived on my doorstep)! I still have a few extra discs from one of last year's Veterans for Vets if you weren't able to snag one of this year's and would like to (I will also be running at least two more of these tourneys before Mar 1, so you will have another opportunity to claim some of this year's models).
LAST THING: Since we have about 30 players registered right now, we will not need the entire course to start. That being said, if you'd like to move to a different starting hole come Friday, you're more than welcome to. Additionally, I may be asking those with less than 5 on their card to pick up a player who is the only one assigned to their hole. I will NOT ask anyone to separate from their already-formed group. I will send out hole assignments as they are on discgolfscene in my final details email.
Once again thank you, and I look forward to seeing you all on the 11th. Final details will come via email Thursday afternoon.
