Hello EVERYONE!!

In less than a MONTH from today, all of you will have arrived at Aspen Meadows and the Sundre area. One MONTH! The Falcon’s Flight Committee is giddy with excitement and activity and wanted to share some information as we get closer to the event. This email might be long, but please read carefully.

What to expect:

- Those camping on site

- Facilities are limited (no showers on site but good new, keep reading, but lots of washrooms). Baby wipes to the rescue!

- Bring your own water, water will be provided on course for the tournament rounds, but we will not be supplying water for your camping needs.

- Pack out what you pack in. No garbage services provided. This property is immaculate, treat it like your own.

- Expect 4 seasons of weather. It can get cold at night in the foothills.

- Space is limited, expect to be separated from your vehicle, we will move vehicles to parking spaces close by, but don’t expect to have your vehicle next to your tent.

- If you have a camper over 35ft, please reach out to us in advance

- Camping is open on Wednesday Aug 31st. We won’t have facilities on site prior to that. When you arrive on Wednesday or Thursday, you will be greeted by an attendant and directed where to setup.

- General comments

- Cell coverage is limited. We will have a booster near tournament central and on some of the hills you can get coverage. Don’t expect to be FaceTiming. Enjoy the disconnected serenity.

- Food trucks ON SITE/Bring cash! We will have some vendors on site. Mobile payments will be a challenge. We’ll have Limber selling discs and merchandise, DiscDawgs will be selling dogs, and we have secured another food truck (Off the grid Food Truck) as well who will be there. Bring cash!

- Wasps. There are some nests out there we will be addressing, but with the hot weather this summer, there’s certainly more. If you’re allergic, bring your epi-pen or antihistamines.

- Rudy really wanted people to enjoy the property, so we’re only doing one round per day. After approx 4pm the courses will reopen for people to take in some doubles, do practice rounds, or take in some of the other on-site games/activities. Or just chill in the campground and socialize!

- SCHOTT'S LAKE: They have come on board this year! Feel free to reach out them them for accomodation options (they are less than 7 mins from Aspen Meadows! They have graciously offered SHOWER SERVICES to ALL PARTICIPANTS for Falcon's Flight 13! Addionally, they will be offering off sales (food packs/ice/licensed) options for everyone as well! Be sure to reference you are with Falcon's Flight 13 when speaking with the staff.

- Here is a link to Sundre's other services for your consideration: https://sundre.com/t/tourism/

- Rob Thompson (Thompson Acres Disc Golf) has also graciously offered his property. Feel free to contact him for more information.

- Site rules:

- No dogs on the actual courses at anytime during the weekend. Dogs must be leashed or on leads in the camping areas and no dogs to be left unattended (get someone to watch your dog or arrange for kennelling in Sundre area).

- Littering of any kind will not be tolerated (cig butts, garbage, etc.). Consequences could include disqualification.

- Have fun! Yes, it's a rule. We don’t expect this will be a problem. :)

Most importantly, the golf:

- The grounds crews have been going hard since spring. We have been cleaning up and sharpening some holes and doing some additional clearing. You thought it was beautiful before!

- Stay on the fairway! This ain’t no ball-golf course adaptation. The rough can be punishing (and the OB too). Throw your shots and stay down the middle.

A note for AM’s. This will be a trophy only event as the player packs are valued at over 200% your registration fee.

Finally a note from a couple of our sponsors:

- Limber Disc Golf is our title sponsor this year and will be on site with discs, shirts swag and more! We THANK THEM GREATLY for their support and involvement!

- Blindman Brewery has worked with the local liquor store ‘Main Avenue Liquor’ in Sundre to offer discounts for competitors on and Blindman products. When you arrive in Sundre, stock up there!!!! They’ll also have some swag/stickers for those disc golfers flooding the store. Support local!!!!

Last note:

- We will be doing a virtual players meeting (via email). Caddy books will be provided and other rules stuff specific to the tournament will be provided. More communication on these specifics to come over the next couple weeks.

REFUNDS and Withdrawals:

We will be strictly following the PDGA refund/withdrawal guideline's for A tier competitions. Please see link for more details: PDGA Refund Guidelines (https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/103#:~:text=Players%20who%20officially%20request%20to%20withdraw%20from%20an%20event%2015,up%20entry%20(if%20offered).)

Waitlists:

Those on the waitlist, be patient. Aug 18th is the refund cutoff, so we don’t expect to have everything final in terms of promoting people into the tourney until then.

Schedule:

Thursday Sep 1: Mandatory Player Check-in - Make arrangements if you cannot make this.

Fri, Sat, Sun: Epic golf and fun!
