Can someone explain the handicap system to me? For example, what does a handicap of -0.4 mean?

There is a scratch score for each division. Your average versus that scratch is used to calculate your handicap. I'm not quite sure of the formula right now. Thanks Rob, I think that makes sense. So if you have a significantly negative handicap would that suggest you're playing in a division that might be too difficult for you? And vice versa if you have a significantly positive handicap?

Correct. Also a positive handicap is more weighted than a negative, to encourage players to move up to the next division.
