Good evening!
Cheryl and I wanted to get an email out tonight about the upcoming Crossover Winter Classic #4 at Harbin on Sunday (2/20). This is going to be a PDGA C-Tier of 18 holes.
This will be the completion of our winter series. We will hand out awards afterwards to those who were the points winners
of all divisions. We will also give out the payouts following the round and awards for #4 winners. All AM's will receive Crossover Cash, and all Open division players will receive their payouts via PayPal.
As far as Sunday goes, a few things of note. As of today, there is a road closed that goes to the parking lot and shelter by hole #1. I would plan on parking by the shelter up on the hill towards the big flagpole and by #4's basket. There is also a port-o-let there. If this changes in the next day, I will send out another email.
We are not going to do a players meeting because players who are on the far side are going to have a hike to get to those holes. Cheryl and I will be in the upper shelter for player check in starting at 9a. Please take the time to check in so we know you are there before 945a. This way we know that there is at least 3 per card. We will collect scores and do payouts at this shelter as well after the round.
Tee off will be sharply at 10a, with the 2 minute warning being at 958a. It is your responsibility to get to your tee on time.
With the heavy rain today, I would expect very muddy/wet conditions. Harbin is notorious for the big water rings around the baskets, and standing water in spots.
The PDGA passcode for live scoring is: muddy
As far as the course particulars go, there will not be any marked OB, we are NOT playing the 2 meter rule, and the "tall grass" is not considered OB. If you throw into any of the honeysuckle/bushes and you cannot make a throw, you must take a penalty stroke and move out as an "unplayable lie". As far as water puddles go, we will play them as casual. If you cannot throw from your lie, you must go backwards away from the basket and mark your spot to throw with no penalty.
Pace of play is very important. We have several groups of 5 players. Please be ready to throw when it is your turn, and keep moving. We can't afford for groups to get several holes behind and log jam the entire course and round. Each lost disc gets 3 minutes before it is deemed lost and penalty and a re-throw must occur. I would recommend a spotter on hole 18 especially.
We are looking forward to a great completion of the winter series. Right now it is forecasted to be in the mid 50's. If you need to drop or withdraw, please do so by 8p on Friday evening to receive a full refund.
I will post hole assignments by noon on Friday. Please check again by 9p on Saturday night, because it could be adjusted due to players dropping out.
Thanks as always for supporting Crossover and our events. We are ready for another fun, efficient, and smooth event.
Thanks and see you Sunday,
Cheryl and Josh
