After watching the weather, discussing with the PDGA and local Disc Golf Clubs, I have decided to keep Shaver Shiver on Saturday as currently planned.
Here are some facts that drove this decision:
-Currently, no snow is forecasted for Seneca.
-About an inch (at worst) is predicted for surrounding areas.
-Driving on a little frozen snow is not as much an issue as black ice which is common in South Carolina this time of year.
-Moving the date to Sunday impacts a SIGNIFICANT number of participants' ability to be in the event that do not envision significant issues with traveling to the event on Saturday morning.
I understand that this system may impact participants' homes/streets in different ways, so I am leaving the door open to get the normal refund until 8:00 AM Saturday morning. You are the best person to evaluate the safety of traveling in your situation. If you feel traveling to this event will be unsafe for you and you want a refund, let me know via text at (864)504-7873 or refund request on disc golf scene prior to 8:00 AM Sunday morning. Do not let driving to this event put you in an unsafe situation.
I suggest leaving earlier than normal on Saturday morning so you can take your time and ensure safe travel.
I will continue to monitor the weather into Friday evening. If there is a major change in the forecast between now and then, I may revisit this decision. However, I feel we can safely hold this event on Saturday morning as planned.
The Caddie books have been sent. I am really excited to see you all on Saturday and I totally understand any withdrawal requests made in the sake of staying safe.
