In true Ice Bowl fashion the weather did not cooperate. You folks did not let that stop you from SHINING!!! Just a little background when organizing the event, I spoke with Rick Rothstein, the head of the Ice Bowl, and he asked me what my goals were for the Ice Bowl? My response: 25% better than last year. For those that don’t know, last year, we collected 500 pounds of canned goods and raised $2025.

As always, you all out did yourself, once again, and proved me WAY wrong. Thank you!!! Without knowing it you are pushing me to run and be better at running these events. But before I reveal the final numbers I really do need to again thank a lot of people that helped me out. Jeff Fischetti, Justin Duncan, Texas Mike for running raffle entries, Fabian Leitner, Justin Crawford for holding down the fort at the end of the day, Sully, Ray, Drew for the baskets, Rose Shertick and Brenda Wiltgen with the early morning rush, Josh Black with all those great photos, PDGA staff members Ginny, Amber, Mike Sullivan, and the Parks Department Michelle and Kyle, and Kristina McCann for all the behind the scene stuff, but most importantly all those that Donated to the 2022 Calvert Ice Bowl, YOU ARE THE HEROS IN ALL OF THIS!!!

This year I am very happy to announce that for the College Park Food Bank we will be donating:

55 Vouchers for Subs from Jersey Mike’s- thank you Kyle Yancey!!!

Between 700- 750 pounds of canned goods a 40-50% increase from last year- its hard getting an accurate count without an industrial scale

AND

Cue the SportsCenter Music and get those bottles out to celebrate:

$4200…….

Yup…. You did that
That’s a 107% increase!!!!

Congratulations EVERYONE. And Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Respectfully
