Hello everyone, you are receiving this email because you are registered for the Sawmills Sling disc golf tournament this Saturday. First off, I would like to thank all of you for participating in this tournament. Thank you to Dynamic Discs, Ken Olson for the Dri-fit shirts, and Justin Haynes for trophies.
NOTE VERY IMPORTANT! There was a mix up and there are 2 events scheduled at this park Saturday. There will be a veterans day ceremony in the top parking lot and at the veteran's memorial which is beside hole 16B and 17. For this reason, we will not be playing hole 17 at all in either round which will put us at 19 holes for the event and a few 5 players cards. With that we need to be very respectful while playing. When coming from hole 16 the gate will be open at the back of the soccer field, once finishing 16B you will go out the front gate and proceed to hole 18.
There is no players meeting for this event and this email and the attached out of bounds sheet serves as that. Below you will find useful information regarding the event.
Check In & Schedule
Tournament central is located at the gazebo near the restrooms and hole 1. Check in will be held from 7:30am until 8:30am. Please arrive promptly to keep us on schedule. The first-round tee will be approximately 9:00am. Starting hole will be posted this Friday on the PDGA website for the event.
After the last card is turned in there will be an hour lunch break, second round tee time will be posted on the PDGA website, UFO and Sawmills Facebook groups. (Assume the second-round tee time is 1 hr. after your digital card is turned in). There are only a few restaurants close by so consider packing your lunch.
Round 1 All divisions play short tees (In this round there will be a 5k/10k ace pool on hole 16B in the soccer field)
Rules for the ace:
It must be recorded (I will be on the hole for this)
Player must look in the camera and state name and what disc you are throwing (Trilogy disc is $10.000 and any other manufacturer is $5,000)
If hit I must record you getting disc out of basket and get statement from you.
Round 2 MPO, MP40, MA1 and MA2 play longs all other divisions play short
Scoring
We will be utilizing PDGA Live Scoring as the main scorecard for this event.
Website: PDGA.com/scores Access Code: sling21
PDGA rules dictate a second scoring method must be used and with the new update 2 players can now keep score on PDGA live which works great. we will have paper score cards if you need them
Few Hole Notes:
Hole 1 road/path and beyond is OB
Hole 2 Blue Tee: there are two Mando's which both must be made. Drop zones are marked at the base of each mandatory tree.
Hole 7: Please keep an eye on drives for this hole, we will hopefully have a spotter but please help your card mates by watching their shots. (there will be a spotter here)
Hole 8 Blue Tee: If you don’t clear the creek on your drive proceed to the red tee as the drop zone.
Hole 18: If your drive comes to rest out of bounds proceed to the drop zone. If it is close you can elect to throw a provisional shot before proceeding down the fairway.
Hole 19: Hole 19 plays as the orange course hole 1 with a hazard green. If you are not on the island, putt from where you are with a one stroke penalty. This is for both drives as well as other shots not landing inside the island.
