A nice hot one for our last round of the Ypsi Dubs Original Tuesday Summer season 2014.

Thanks Carey Holleran for bringing the radar gun for the speed trial pre-round CTP. It was great fun to try different discs and different throws to see the affect on speed.

Ypsi Dubs Tuesday 6/24 Round: 39 Players

Once again the rain held off for the most part - just a short delay or a hole or two in the rain depending on where on the course you were when it passed by us.

More playoffs this week four -10 playing off for last cash. Three -11 for 3rd-5th. -14 took 2nd and a really nice round by Damian Redman and Taggart Anderson with -17 for 1st.

Cody Coleman also had some fun on Hole 11 with an ACE for $101 and 25 points.

So this is what it must be like to play Disc Golf in Texas - 90 some odd degrees and 222% humidity - Hey no rain and the wind died down and became a nice cool breeze near the end.

Sorry about the delay at the end and the card was finally found and we got the tie breakers done and out of the park before 9:00.

As announced we plan on starting a Indoor Putting League at Buffalo Wild Wings this Fall - Thanks Soup for the hook up.

Ypsi Dubs Tuesday 5/20 Round: 53 Players in Paradice

What a beautiful day at the Rolling Hills Disc Golf course. No rain, some sun, blue skies and some puffy white clouds as a backdrop for 53 player to enjoy the Tuesday evening round. So relaxing I did not believe Russell Taint Aced Hole 10 on the card in front of us. No yelling ,cheers or shouts of joy. I Thought $116 is enough to get all excited about and on Hole 10 you get to watch it all the way in the basket ;-) Nice Shot! Taint

New Course Work Day -
Many have indicated that they would like to help work on the new course layout - Make the dream a reality. THANKS! We will try and schedule some work days but it is hard for me to schedule, I normally just head out when I can escape BUT tomorrow at 6:00 we will be out trying to wrap up the new Holes 4,5,6,& 7, which are playable but can use some TLC. They all have Totem pole (Orange 2x4) basket markers and have had some mowing. I grabbed some pictures and some quad copter video which I will post soon for those who can not get out but want to monitor the progress. If you can make it out Thursday any time between 6:00 and 9:00, I have 2 lobbers, 2 hand sickles but any hand tools would help. Make your mark, Make the Dream a reality.....

Ypsi Dubs Tuesday 5/13 Round: Get'n Lucky

What rain? Well it keep some players away but 30 die-hards were rewarded with a great evening of disc golf. We managed to get the round in with only a few drops which helped to keep the humidity up and made some extra sticky to the chains. Aces!.

Talking about fun - Hole 8 was Ace City tonight for both samuel Samsquanch smith & Mateo Lawry. Both hitting the same hole to split the Ace Pool for $64 each and an extra 25 points on the leaderboard. Nice Shots Gents.

Jeff Lozowsky took the 100% CTP on hole 1 for $30 which also helped secure first place as well with -15 teamed up with The Angry Lefty - Smitty.

Also we are going back into the new area of the park and trying to get the layout nailed down so the proposal can be submitted. The new courses is on the Master Plan but no funds allocated yet. The Park manager Steve retires in December, he has been our champion for getting this new course in and so we want to get the proposal submitted before he leaves. If you have interest in assisting we plan on getting the basic course laid out and get the holes near the current course cleared and playable and then expand outward. After being able to play them they may get tweaked, which is critical to get done before any crews come in to help clear or put in pads and baskets.

You can see some painted stakes in the new area marking approximate tee pads and basket placement for about 18 holes so far. We will try to get totem poles to mark the basket locations to make the holes more playable as we go. Work will being out from behind hole 1 basket and Hole 2 tee pad. We have 18 holes currently laid out but are trying to get 24 in the design. Hole 1 is located near the end of the soccer fields near the new parking lot as you drive around the circular drive.

That also helped put Geoff in the #1 spot on the DGLA MiCPS-Summer overall leaderboard. Taggart has spot #2 on both leaderboards as well. Also dual top leaderboard spots belong to Ben Calhoun and samuel Samsquanch smith. Way to start the season off strong guys.

Welcome Mateo, Matt, Shane, Andy, Kyle, Kevin, Jeff and Brian - all new to Ypsi Dubs Tuesdays. And welcome back to many we have not seen since old man winter (not me) came to town. Oh it warms my heart - it's just like a crazy dysfunctional family reunion - the start of the summer season. I know there are a few more long lost relatives who are just dying to show up and face the jokes, get the hugs and lay down the challenges.

Well the Original Ypsi Dubs Summer season has started off HOT - Not just warmer than the winter season but the competition was fierce. Not record breaking scores but a 5 way tie for first at 41 (-13). and coming down to a throw off that meant the difference between $70 for 1st and $10 for 5th - Do or Die. And a three way tie at 42 (-12) for 6th through 8th - with last cash at 7th place - after the throw off one goes home without cash. But with 44 players starting off the first round we paying out 7 places, how the disc fly is how the points and cash get handed out.
