Wednesday Night Lights - '14 through '15

Notes from 3/18/15:

- You guys said we didn't need to put the chains up and you were right. I was part of the 6-some and we finished in time!
- Ten of 11 cards shot a -10 or better!
- Shay and Boyd reset the co-ed bounty with a -11 and get $30 for their effort (unless Shay and Someone do it this week).
- I will be paying out all bounties this week. Must be present to collect :-)

- Thanks to Who Needs Chains and James Beckner for the CTP prizes last week. We will have 2 CTP's this week unless anyone lets me know they'll have something to donate (before Wednesday).
- This Wednesday, the 25th, will most likely be our last Wednesday Night Lights event of the year. The Goon has been kinda messy lately and is only getting worse. I'll leave it up for discussion but since we can't officially begin WNDubs at Kincaid until May I'd like to suggest we meet there at 6:30 p.m. for some random draw cash dubs. I'm positive we can't complete the course quite yet but we can definitely do the Near 9 (1-5, 15-18) or possibly the Lucky 13 (1-7, 13-18). Plus, I'd like to begin having our Wednesday Night presence felt. What are your thoughts?

The score of 39 (-15) was carded for the 7th time since we've been at the Goon for Wednesday Night Lights. Who got 'em you ask?

1st. Joe Schacht & Brad Larson. (Opening night and $50 cash bounty unless another team cards a 38 or better before the end of the month.)

2nd. Jake Haskin & Aaron Merideth. (Week 7.)

3rd. Luke Monyer & Aaron Merideth. (Week 12.)

4th. Luke Monyer & Mike Miles. (Week 13.)

5th. Brian Cassidy & Will Harrison. (Week 16.)

6th. Shawn Graham & Andrew Rodgers. (Week 18.)

7th. Will Harrison & Andrew Rodgers. (Week 19.)

That was another fun BYOP event! We will likely have one more before the season ends. Please plan on having the last official Wednesday Night Glow on March 25, 2015. As of right now, I'm not 100% sure on how to handle the Finale as there is $0.00 in the Finale Fund. Please blame yourselves for that, haha! The Ace Funds that don't get hit go into the Finale Fund. They've all been hit this season (that's not a bad thing). I have some ideas on how ... more

Notes from 2/18/15:

That was another fun BYOP event! We will likely have one more before the season ends. Please plan on having the last official Wednesday Night Glow on March 25, 2015. As of right now, I'm not 100% sure on how to handle the Finale as there is $0.00 in the Finale Fund. Please blame yourselves for that, haha! The Ace Funds that don't get hit go into the Finale Fund. They've all been hit this season (that's not a bad thing). I have some ideas on how to take care of the Top 12 but I'll run it by the Board first for approval or suggestions. We typically payout $200-300 that night. Again, this time it will be different. From the first Wednesday in April until the baskets get pulled we will most likely meet up for cash rounds.

The lights: For me, the most frustrating part of running an event is the fact that lots of you either don't listen or you choose not to cooperate. Either way, I find this completely unacceptable. The lights on #8 were attached to the Crown of the basket. The light on #9 was attached to the top ring of the Cage. The same group was in charge of these two baskets. During the announcements I went over how to attach the lights. What happened? Fifteen minutes after the announcements stuff was already messed up. What happens then? I can either settle with the half-assed attempt at attaching the lights or fix them for everyone's sake. I hope you all noticed the change. I really wish some of you would put yourselves in my shoes. On Wednesday's at the very least...

There will be 4 CTP's this next Wednesday. The CTP is for a free Blooming Onion from Outback Steakhouse. I have a bunch of these from going to Aces games so it's time to give some away. The CTP's will be on #'s 2, 5, 6 and 7. No minimum distance required on any of these four. Should you win but not want it please give it to someone who will use it.

Joe reset the Cali Bounty by two strokes, throwing a 41. And he "did it with ONLY 3 discs"! That means if the season ended today he would get $25 for his accomplishment.

Don't forget that 2/18/15 is the next Bring Your Own Partner Dubs event. I will post something on Sunday night or Monday morning allowin ... more

Don't forget that 2/18/15 is the next Bring Your Own Partner Dubs event. I will post something on Sunday night or Monday morning allowing you to post who your partner is. Remember, no Cali and no 6-somes at these events so be sure to sign up right away. For now you should just secure your partner. If you need a partner go ahead and post that now to get your ball rolling.

Someone needs to step up and run Wednesday Night Leagues on 2/25/15. If we don't have a volunteer before we leave on the 18th, Dubs will be cancelled for the 25th. I will not make an effort to meet up and pass things off after that. I do ask that whoever accepts the responsibility of running the show have a vehicle and be a current member of the ADGA since there are two boxes of supplies and cash involved.

With the temperature in single digits at tee time, hot rounds were still thrown. All 9 teams shot 46 (-8) or better. That's the second time this season in which all teams shot a 46 or better. The CTP on #8 was hit by Greg Rouse. Coincidentally, he did it by acing the hole! Dale Williams and Jake Haskin were partners last week (43) and this week as well (41). They received double points (20) by bettering their score.

Last night was fun. Thanks for coming out!

There have been some solid rounds thrown at the Goon on Wednesday nights. We're entering week 14. So far we've had four 39's recorded. Luke was involved with two of them... and they were back-to-back weeks (weeks 12 & 13).

Mike Miles and Scott Johnson were the first to hit the "Repeat Partner" bounty by having been partners on week 11 and shot a 42. The following week they randomly partnered up again and shot a 40. They doubled their point total for the round by doing so (from 9 points to 18 points each).

In regards to my request that those of you with "prepaid" leagues RSVP the day of the event before noon: If you have a prepaid AND you are one of the 20 people signed up for today I will automatically check you in for today. So, feel free to do your own thing until 6:30 pm or until you hear my horn... whichever comes first. Speaking of whichever comes first, today will begin once all 20 are there or 6:30. Whichever happens first. See you all there!
