Spring/Summer starting on 04.13

Wanted to let you all know that the spring/summer session will be starting next Wednesday April 13th. With the construction near Bandy still in effect, we are going to be at MBD to start the season.

I will be creating the Spring/Summer league here on The Scene tonight and posting a scheduled round on the homepage as well.

League Summary

Wow, was that REALLY 27 weeks of Discgolf?

It went fast. I can say that it was perhaps the BEST winter of disc golf I have ever had. I am beyond thrilled with the attendance each week, and the amount of fun that appeared to be had by all who joined in each week. I hope that you enjoyed it every bit as much as I did. The gifts/appreciation items presented tonight were a complete surprise. I am happy to know that you think that much of the league!

It went fast. I can say that it was perhaps the BEST winter of disc golf I have ever had. Hot round of -17 recorded by Kerns/Sprow tonight takes the win. A pair of -15 (Boucher/Beard and Freeland/Common) as well as -14 (Brayton/DeHaan....who took cash in the playoff, Fifer/Hepler, Sailler/Chilson) round out the tops scores.

Scoreboard is finalized. Congratulations to everyone that came out. Plenty of new faces which we hope will be back for future rounds. Happy to have all the donations for the CTPs tonight (thank you to all who donated), as well as Knight's-who continue to sponsor us each week. Bill Chapman also donated a Main Street Ventures gift card as well. Good eating for sure at these fine restaurants.

We will start up again in a few weeks (April 13 to be exact). We will start at MBD. Please continue to throw and organize rounds between now and then. Plenty to come in the Spring/Summer session. Planning on Bag Tags....still in the planning stage, but looks VERY promising. Details to come.

League Finale

Looks like there is a good chance of rain tomorrow for the final night of this session. Lots of CTPs tomorrow night, all merch(plastic, shirts, etc.) or gift cards....have something for each hole!

State berths will also be awarded tomorrow night as well. In addition, I have plenty of plastic available for purchase.....glow and non glow. Also have LEDs available if you need them.

Glow 3-16

Not the best night of glow, windy and muddy ....thanks to the 19 of you that made it out tonight.

Not the smoothest of rounds as we were short in some spots on lights for the baskets.....my bad.....apparently we needed a few more out there and was some poor planning and we should have errored on the side of needing more.

Next week is the final week for fall/winter.....we are going to play at MBD next week.....plenty going on, including Berths to be awarded.

Glow 03.09

Looks like it will be wet.....hopefully all the rain has moved out of here for today, but you never know....please plan accordingly.

Be aware that there is construction on M14 between Main Street and Miller.....please leave a few minutes early and let me know if you are cutting it close.

Lastly, have Dri fits made for those of you who expressed interest. Will have them with me tonight. Please bring funds if you have not already paid for them.....they turned out GREAT!

Bandy Glow 03.02

Will try to get to the park at my normal time period of 6/6:15. Have salt and shovel and will get started on the tee pads. Likely another Red-Red round tonight or perhaps a White-Red if there is not much snow depth on the ground....will have to wait on that until we get there tonight.

13 players last night on one of the few snow filled rounds that we have had this year. Plenty of snow made it a little slow going on the disc location but think we found everything last night.

Reslock/Sprow take the win last night with a solid -17, aided by Reslock's ace on his very first throw last night. 2nd place went to Brayton/Gacioch at -16, and three way battle for last cash at -15. Sailler/Wehrheim win in the throw off.

Back to Bandy next week. Let me know if anything is off.. ... more

Dri Fits anyone?

Have had a request for Dri fits from a few of you.....if you are interested, please let me know....need a size and color for the shirt. Planning on short sleeves unless you tell me otherwise. Have red, black, and white as colors for the graphic/artwork. Cost is reasonable and I think I can get them done in the 12-15 range. If interested, please bring some cash on Wednesday.

Glow Tonight

I recently restocked LEDS and will have those with me this evening. As requested, I ordered blue and green LEDs.

I think we will still probably have an altered course (as in not playing all 18 existing holes) but rather a shortened loop. It will be a fun round regardless.

Reminder

We are playing Bandy this week....this was a change as we have received ice and snow....bandy pads will be far better taken care of for us to utilize.

I have a very limited number of LEDS on hand. Hopefully we can get by this week and I will have more available for the next league night on the 20th.

It's official....BANDY THIS WEEK

Given the snow and ice, and the comments, we are switching venues to BANDY for this week....tee pads will be in better conditions and any wind we should be protected a little better as well. Since winter finally made it here, tee pad conditions need to be a concern. Past winters have shown that pads are not cleared at MBD often, if at all....this leaves ice and dangerous footing.

Please pass the word along to everyone that we are at BANDY this week, NOT MBD.

Change in venue?

With the snow and ice that Ann Arbor has received, as well as what is in the forecast I am considering a change in venue to Bandy for this week's week round.....historically, pads have been poor at MBD once we get snow and ice. Bandy has our league as well as Phil's Monday night league at bandy keeping the pads clear.

Thoughts from the memberships? Anyone been out to MBD today?

Closing out 2015

Closing out 2015 we had 18 players last night. Will scores posted soon.

Really want to thank each one of you for coming out. Very happy with weekly turnout and the good vibes each week. Hope you are enjoying the weekly rounds.

wet night of glow

Looks like there is some rain in the forecast hopefully we miss the worst of it.

Don't forget to bring a disc if you are interested in participating in the disc exchange..... something new or newish (no damage, scuffs, etc).

Also the city scaled back the deer cull parks list.....bandemer is now off the list good news for us.

Glow is on tonight at Bandemer. 7:30 start. I should be there by about 6:15/6:30 to throw a few holes. As always, I will try to have reg opened at 7:00 or so.

Looking like another great December night in Michigan for glow golf. Hope you can join us at MBD.

Glow Tonight: 11/18

Bandemer Tonight:
Forecast looking more like a Michigan November tonight. Rain ends by start of round. Some wind (forecast says ~15-20 mph. But, it is far better than that cold white stuff we will see soon enough.

I ordered some Glow Wizards last week and they arrived yesterday. Will have them with me tonight for those interested.

I have some LEDs left. Most are White, and I will have more for next week. Just did not get it done in time for tonight's round.

Decent weather in store for this time of year. High 40s for temp and a light wind according to the forecast. Playing long tees of course, hopefully another good turnout like last week.
Also wanted to remind everyone of the Glowpen this Saturday the 14th. Tournament is posted. A few more have recently added. Can take payment via paypal or in person a league tonight.

Great weather means new faces

Great weather brought some new faces to last night's round. Glad to see 8 new faces to Wednesday nights. Looking forward to seeing you at more rounds in the future.
Bennett/Common take top honors with a -16. Followed closely were Kerns/Quiton at -15, Brayton/Reslock and Helper/Binienda at -14, Jub Jub/Neuman at -13, and Sailler/Creason, Jopps/Bolla at -12.
Cash CTPs went to Pete Boucher, Phil Common, and Jub Jub. Robert Smith took home the merch CTP.
Back at MBD next week. Hope for more good weather.....we will take it as long as we can.

Glowpen

Scores coming soon from this past league round.

I have posted an event/tournament on Nov 14th called Glowpen. 27 holes of discgolf. Cost is $25 regardless of division. $10 player pack for all AMs towards LEDS or a disc from our club selection. Registration online or in person at leagues. Pass the word please. Should be a lot of fun.

League reminder and traffic concern

Reminder that if you told me you wanted one of the Innova discs, I will have them tomorrow evening. Please bring funds to pick up your order....paypal is also an option.

Also, Rob DeHaan has informed me that there is construction on Ellsworth road....it will be closed 10/7 and 10/8 between State and Platt (this is south of the course). If this is in your travel path, please be advised that an alternate route will be needed.
