I have created a new Spring/Summer League here on DGS (WC GLOW SPRING/SUMMER 2018).
We are going to start up this Wednesday, April 4th at Bandemer. Same start time.
Get that glow plastic out and let it fly :) See you Wednesday night.
First, I would like to apologize for the delay. In prepping for the tournament this past weekend this got put on the back burner.
In our Fall/Winter finale, we played White-Red layout. Gacioch/Sprow and Common/Brayton tied for top score at -15. Next we had -13 shot by Reslock/Arnet, and last cash as a -12 by Sailler/Thelen.
We had a merch/$10 CTP on hole 1. Hole 7 and Hole 8 were both Cash CTPs. My apologies as I do not have written down who earned those.
Lastly, Fifer aced (yes, again ...

Whoever had the very bright LEDs (like on hole 2) please message me. I am interested in learning more about them, where you got them, cost, etc.
Putting it on the backside might work. It was VERY bright, but my flashlights do not last long in colder weather.
First, I want to say thank you to everyone who donated discs to Tommy Walker so he can take them with him on his trip to South America. He will be getting those discs in the hands of folks down there who are interested in the game. I did a quick count last night and I believe there were 62 discs donated. You folks rock!
As for league news, another great turnout for glow league with 26 players. Top scores on the Red-Red layout was Fifer/Sprow at -17. A close second was Piziali/Ritchey with a - ...

A quick reminder. Last week I mentioned that a local guy would be heading to South America to play some disc golf and was interested in taking/sending some discs down to spread the love of the game.
If you have discs that are collecting dust and that you are definitely not throwing anymore, please consider bringing them tomorrow night to pass on to so we can get them into the hands of those who are just getting started with their love of this great game.
A great night for glow with good temps for late February. We played the Blue-Red layout and had 22 players in attendance.
Taking top honors was Sprow/Erwin with a -13. Right on their tails was Reslock/Chilly with a -12. There was a "flip off" of last two cashing spots between Sailler/Pizi, Thelen/Neal, and Boucher/Common. Thelen/Neal won the flip and took 3rd cash, with Boucher/Common earning the last cashing spot.
CTPs were awarded to:
Hole 1 (cash) Erwin
Hole 5 (merch): ...

A pretty good night for golf, with a little extra water on the course. We played White-Red, however with 7 covered with a lot of water, we played 8 Blue to 7's basket in place of the traditional hole 7.
Taking top honors for the night was Frame/Sailler with a -14. Tied for 2nd and 3rd place was Brayton/Jopps and Boucher/Fifer with -13. Brayton/Jopps won the flip for the extra amount in the payout.
CTPs went to the following folks:
#2 Crouch (merch)
#7 Frame (cash)
#9 Sprow (cash)

With the rain, it is going to be wet and possibly sloppy out there this week. Probably should bring some extra towels with you this week. Chance of standing water is a very good bet on some holes, namely 7 which is closest to the river.
Good news is most of the snow should be melted off and getting those CTP flags into the ground hopefully will be a little easier.
See you all tomorrow night. Have a good Tuesday.
There is a fun alternate I like to play when 7 is flooded. You play 8 Blue to 7's basket. It is a lot of fun!
Thank you for sharing. We will take a look at the course tomorrow and see what the conditions look like.
Our Valentine's Day round brought out 19 players. Top score on the night was a -16 by Jopps/Ritchey. 3 teams came in at -15(Frame/Plantz, Gacioch/Perras and Trombley/Sprow). They elected a throw-off to determine last 2 cashing spots. Frame/Plantz took the throw off with Sprow/Trombly taking the last cashing spot.
CTPs went to the following folks:
#3 - Jopps (Cash)
#7 - Sprow (Merch)
#9 - Sailler (Cash)
Sprow also aced #7 taking home $120 of the ace pool.
Enjoy the warmer weather. Back at Bandemer next week. Have a great weekend. See you all soon.
Just a reminder for tomorrow's round. We are playing at ROLLING HILLS. I am expecting that someone will be staffed at the gate so be prepared to stop and pay park entry.
Same start time for tomorrow. With snow in the forecast, we will need to take a look at the tee pad situation upon arrival. I will have shovels and salt. Hoping to get there by 6:00/6:15ish.
Working on the layout for tomorrow night. I have 2 options that utilize different areas of the course. Still debating as I know ...

IMPORTANT REMINDER
We are playing this next Wednesday's round (FEB 7th) at ROLLING HILLS.
Same start time. Please note, that they likely will have someone collecting at the gate. Please be prepared.
We are fortunate enough to be part of their Winterfest series. We want to make sure that they know how much we appreciate the opportunity and do not want to take advantage of their generosity.
We need to keep the pace of play up. We will think about a good layout that allows us to play the round AND gets us out of there at a reasonable time.
Enjoy your weekend.
A great night to play glow.
We had 24 players in attendance for our white-red round. Hot score on the night was turned in by Perras/Thelen at -13. A pair of -12 by Chilson/Frame and Harju/Neal took the next two payouts. A there was a throw off for last cash was taken by Fifer/Taint in a throw-off with the team of Buckowing/Crouch.
CTPS on the night:
Hole 4 (MVP disc donated by 24 Cha!ns) - PHIPPS
Hole 5 (Cash) - FRAME
Hole 6 (Cash) - Thelen
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Superbowl, commercials, and half-time performance.
Thank you to the 26 players who came out to play this week. Another good turnout. We played the White-White layout. Thank you for continuing to support WC Glow.
Top score on the night of -16 went to Gacioch/Fifer. Close on their heels was Plantz/Kerns at -15. Third cash went to Crouch/Piziali at -11, and last cash went to Sprow/Robere (Fought/Jopps also had the same score but had left. Please see me next league round).
Fifer aced (yes again!). This time he got Hole 4 and took $91 out of th ...

As mentioned last night, please consider joining our friends from Wolf Pack Discs by playing their Hunt for Berth event this Saturday at Big Portage Lake (information about the event is available here on Disc Golf Scene). Thank you to everyone who has already pre-registered. I know that WPD appreciate the support.
A great night of golf with 22 players in attendance.
Shooting our White-Red last night, discs flew a little different than most nights. Heard those comments from several players. Simply put, cold temps does weird things to discs.
Taking 1st place last night was Fifer/Scobie with a -13. Tied at -12 were teams of Sailler/Pills and Gacioch/Sprow. And taking last cash at -11 was Frame/Neal.
CTPs were earned by Wykes(hole 6-cash), Boucher (hole 8-merch), and Fifer (hole 9-cash). Wykes also c ...

Have an extra pair of gaiters that I will not be using. Would like them to go to someone who needs a pair. Let me know.
Well we entered the new year with a warm cozy round thanks to Brooke/Elijah catching fire at -16 ($50), followed by Priebe/Binienda at -15 ($30). We had a log jam at -14 but Frame/Neal prevailed in the flip for last cash with a life changing $10!!! Matt Neal said he is going to use the money to go to Disney World! Kenny Sailer made a guest appearance and sniped both cash ctp's for $36, and Pizi took home the merch ctp. Thank you are for coming out on a frigid night for some good clean family fun!
That was a cold night!
With feel like temps at -11 and probably a good 6 inches of snow on the ground, we had 20 players in attendance for the round. Top score for the night on the round of 2x reds were Fifer/Crouch at -16 ($50). Coming in second at -15 was Ritchey/Reslock ($30), and last cash went to Plantz/Wykes at -14 ($20).
Cash CTP winners included Crouch on hole 3 ($20) and Taint on hole 9 ($20). Thelen got the merch CTP on hole 6.
I will be gone for next week's round but Ker ...

Fun night of league before the craziness of the holiday season. Had 29 players on the night.
Hot score for the night included -15 by Common/Gacioch and Scobie/T Pills. Each team received $50. 3 teams came in tied at -13. They elected a throw off to determine cashing places. Wykes/Hespen ($20), Frame/Fifer ($20), and Fought/Jopps ($10).
All three CTPs on the night were cash CTPs. They were earned by Phipps (#4) and Reslock (who got BOTH #8 and #9).
Back at it tomorrow night (12.27). Snow ...

I have a chance to order Z Sparkle Zones(with MDGO Barstamp) and Midnight ESP Nukes (Radiation symbol and MDGO)
Is anyone interested in them? Please let me know and bring some cash tomorrow night. I will be submitting my order tomorrow afternoon.
Also, don't forget about tomorrow's disc exchange. Bring a new, non-thrown, non-inked disc to exchange. Selection will be based on the score in tomorrow's round and whether or not you participated in the exchange.
Back at it this week after last week's cancellation.
Taking an idea from another local club, the details are pretty easy to follow. Being the round before Christmas, I think it would be fun to host a gift exchange.
Bring a new disc(or discs if they are lower level plastic) valued around $15....wrapped of course. Discs should be new, non-inked, and unthrown. We will play our league round and then at the conclusion, gifts will be selected....winning scores from the round will have first c ...

Well, I can't believe that I am saying it.....I am going to cancel league for this evening.
Roads are going to be bad (already starting to get a little treacherous) and the fact is that many of you travel a good distance. The forecast did not change much and the heaviest of the snow is coming down during the late afternoon and early evening hours. I simply do not feel good about asking you to take a risk to come play disc golf tonight. Please stay off the roads and hopefully at home wher ...

Thanks for the update and probably wise decision, see ya next week!
Soooooooo, there is some snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Projection right now is for 4-6 inches from about noon-midnight tomorrow (insert inappropriate joke here). Heaviest amounts are predicted from 2-8pm tomorrow.
While I do not think we have cancelled league in the past (at least that I can recall), I think it is worth keeping safety in mind for tomorrow. I am close enough that the travel would not bother me, but I want to keep in mind that many of you travel from a decent distance to ...

I wouldnt be totally upset if you removed my temptation to drive an hour and a half through a blizzard to play disc golf lol
Thanks Scott for being proactive on this, will monitor throughout the day and go from there.
if league is a go I'll be there. Event I had planned for tonight was canceled becasue of the snow! lol
Since there is snow on the ground, searching for discs may become more of a challenge at times. I would like for you to make sure that you have discs prepared for the conditions. Check on your LEDs and see that they are putting out good light (and can be seen under several inches of snow) or make sure that you attach a few feet of ribbon (have seen this done, but do not practice this myself). The ribbon should stick out from the snow allowing you to locate discs. If you are using glow discs you ... more

A great night of glow with cool temperatures, but little to no wind.
Kerns/Thelen take top honors with a -16, followed closely with a -15 from Sprow/Dowing and Gacicoh/Boucher. Winning in the 3-team (-13) throw-off for last cash was Fifer/Frame.
Thank you to Matt Neal for donating a pair of glow discs last night. They helped compliment the CTPs that we offered on every hole last night. Cash CTPs were earned by Downing and Sprow ($26 each) and Merch CTPs went to Dowing (passed down by Chapm ...

Adjustment to the scores from last week's round. Only affects top two teams. Will get payouts corrected with those players tonight. Thank you Jopps for reporting the error.
Going to be a cold one tonight. Dress warm.
Looks like it is going to be a wet afternoon and possibly evening. Please remember all the necessary items.
See you tomorrow evening.
Another GREAT turnout last night with 38 players. Thank you for making it out to WC Glow.
Izeluk/Neuman and Gacioch/Thelen take top honors at -16 and $55/team. Sprow/Brayton shot -15 and took $40. Tie for last cashing spots at -13 and $10/team went to Rolfe-Chin/Common, Chapman/Fifer, Boucher/Reslock, and Crouch/Visger.
