While the winter glow league is over, I thought that I would pose the question.....who wants to continue?
I will be unable to attend this week as I have parent conferences on Wednesday, but if there are some of you who are interested, I would encourage you to continue.
While I am on the subject, is there interest in a spring/summer glow league? I may or may not be able to facilitate it but would be happy to help one or two of you out if you wanted to get into managing the league. Send me a message if you are interested....we can go from there.
I apologize for not posting yesterday. Kids and family have had me running like crazy.
Wednesday night looks like it will include 27 holes, ideally White-Blue-Red. Format will include changing partners each 9. You take your score with you when you change partners. Points awarded at end of the night are on YOUR score for the evening. 2 points for participation, 1 point for each person you beat, and 2 points for overall victory.
$15 all-in covers play, *Ace Pool, LOTS of CTPS (8 or 9 guaranteed ...

Looks like a large majority of you are interested in playing 27....so let's plan on that. Please try to get there early on Wednesday. Personally, I would like to start as early as possible as we are throwing in another 9. If we could start somewhere between 630/645 it would help us all in facilitating a smooth round.
More formal post to follow later this afternoon with specific details. One heads up, due to the large amount of CTPs planned, please expect the cost of all-in being $15(dependent on participation, I am planning 9-10 CTPs at this time).
Looks like another cold night for us....what's new? However, it does appear that there is a warmup coming(that being in relative terms to what we've had so far). Predictions for high 20s, mid 30s, and temps even approaching 40 within the next week.
Hopefully tees are clear, but I will try to get there by 6 to check them out. Details to be presented tonight regarding next week's finale. A current plan includes 3 rounds of 9 holes, with a change of partner each round. Discussion is ...

Looking like it will be cold for the final February round. Hope you did not pack away all those extra layers just yet....you will need them.
Planning to offer 3 CTPs yet again this week, unless I hear you are getting tired of them. May use merchandise for one of them.
See you Wednesday at Bandemer.
Thank you one and all for coming out last night. Great temps, fewer layers, and good conditions. Some good golf played last night. 17 players in all, biggest turnout of the season I think. I will get players added and scores posted tonight. Still have plenty of league stamped discs available if you did not get yours last night. Send me a message if interested.
Warmer temps, melting snow.....spring is getting closer. While there is still some snow that we are likely to get, we will take it for now. See you this evening. As usual, I will try to get there a bit early to look over the tee pads.
Also have club stamped discs for sale. Taking requests if you have something particular in mind (color, or stamp color).
anyone going early ill be there at 4 to play a couple rounds before.
Would like to get there early to play a little, but not possible. However, I am going to try to be there by 6.
The order of club stamped discs was picked up today. Discs look pretty nice. I posted a few pictures in the album area. Variety of colors on the non glow, and a variety of foils on all discs. I will have them with me next week for league. if you are interested bring some extra cash. 10 available in each: Glow Buzzz, Glow Comet, Glow Nuke, D-Magnet, Z-Buzzz.
Glow tonight at Bandy. Tee pads looking hit and miss on some holes. If I can get out early, I will try to get a shovel and ice melt on those that need it. Layout to be determined but as always, we can discuss as a group.
Club disc order should be ready sometime this week. Have 50 discs ordered, 5 different molds: Z-Buzz, D-Magnets, and Glow Nuke/Buzzz/Comet. All feature a club stamp from Discraft. I will try to post the image on the club page. Please see me if you are interested in buying a disc....very reasonable price.
CTPs offered tonight. $10 all in.
See you this evening.
ill be there at 4 if anyone wants to play a earlier round before glow
i shovel all the pads that were not shoveled some need salt
We will not be stopped by a little white fluffy stuff on the ground.
See you this evening for the 7pm tee off. I will try to get out and shovel some of the pads before the round. Have the shovel and some ice melt I can bring.
Also have MDGO exclusive Glow Zone's available for $20. I have 6 or 7 left for sale and will bring them this evening.
See ya'll soon.
Sorry for asking.... Are you doing a Mr. T impression or did you mistype?
btw, you doing Mr. T impression in my head has me rolling right now
Due to colder temps and probability of wind, a change in venue has been thrown out there. Tonight's round will be played at BANDY, NOT MBD. Seems like a lot of our regulars we interested in the switch....thank you Brooke for getting the ball rolling!
I think with the ice covered tee pads at MBD, Bandy will have safer conditions as well as offer some protection from the winds that are predicted. Please make the change on the home screen...this will help determine who has seen the message as ...

Well, lots of snow brings on the aces. 2 Aces recorded last night in well over a foot of snow. Scott Sprow Aces hole 2 while Foz Miller answers on Hole 4. Due to excess snow, 2 rounds of Reds were played last evening. Brian Crouch and Brooke Plantz take home the win at -14 with Miller/Reslock and Sprow/Ross tying for second at -12. Back at it next week. Checked the schedule and it looks like we are at BANDY next week. I will get scores entered this evening when I get home. Fun round. See everyone next week.
Jeeeeez you guys are punishing those chains off the teepad! Rediculousness
Good way to start off 2014 by playing some glow at MBD tonight. Thank you to those of you who were able to make it out. It was cold enough we should earn double points in DGLA but will need to confirm that with the DGLA admin. Have a great week and we hope to see you out next Wednesday evening for the next round.
Reminder to all, WC Glow is holding league round next Wed. Jan 1.....we are playing at MBD and starting at 7pm.
Good night for golf in the city of Ann Arbor. Thank you to everyone who came out this evening to play. I appreciate your attendance and hope that you had a good time. Solid and close scoring this evening. Brooke takes home 1st place shooting -11. Solid scoring for the rest of the field, who were separated by only 4 strokes. CTPs went to Daryl Ballios, Jason Jopps, and Ben Ross. We return to MBD for the first round of 2014 next Wednesday on New Years Evening. Please come out and start 2014 off on the right foot with a glow round. 7pm start time.
What if you're a lefty? And left is the plant foot? Hmmmm
Reminder that we are starting at 6 tonight. I know it is an earlier start but based on our discussion last week, it seemed as this is when everyone wanted to start. I will get there as soon as I can tonight. Daddy daycare until my wife gets home. I have LEDs if any of you need them. Fresh snow makes finding plain glow discs really tough. See ya'll soon.
wish i could be there but sadly i cant this week. But i'll b back next week. Have fun boys
Is it gonna be 6 from now on? Might make it again now if so...
Unfortunately no, we tried starting at 6 due to non working schedule during the holidays....ended up starting later than that anyway.....looks like we are staying with 7pm start times.
What a night....great round of DISCGOLF at a private course tonight at BRATS. Thank you to the Calhoun's for hosting WC Glow tonight for our round. Floyd Hampp and Brooke Plantz took home hot score with -10. Ben Calhoun was one shot back, and Ron Howard and Scotty Reslock took home 3rd. Thank you to Jay B and the Jackson crew for making the trek tonight. Next week we will NOT have our usual Wed night league as it falls on Christmas. However, based on popular request, we WILL play Thursday evening. Look at the home page for details.
Congratz to team "My Little Pony" on their big win! I am so gonna ask Santa for a magical purple unicorn Nova for Christmas! CHA!!!
the real feel was 12 degrees, double points? brooke posted a pic of weather
We are playing a private course this evening, a little gem we call BRATS. The Calhoun family has spent countless hours creating their own little playground in their backyard. We need to be quiet and courteous of the neighbors. Tee time is 7pm. Send me a message if you are cutting it close. As always, CTPs will be offered so bring a few extra bucks. LEDs will be available from multiple people in the event that you need them. GLOW discs WILL NOT work in this snow, so please take the time to plan ahead for tonight. See you all later.
L.E. (limited edition) ESP Glow Zones available for just $20. I need to submit my order at the end of December. Order pick up on Feb. 1st. I know this is short notice, but if you are interested please let me know. Pre-paid only please. Please let me know if you have questions.
We got the official word today, we were given permission to play BRATS for this week's round. We need to keep in mind that the Calhoun's have neighbors and we can not be loud and disruptive. The course borders their property and I am sure that they do not care to have a lot of disruption. See you all Wednesday night for our round. Have a good few days. Any questions please send me a message.
I've never played out there. How long are most of the holes?
same amount of baskets to light either way but less tees to clear, prefer 18 but 2nd time around newbies have chance to have clue what they're shooting at. Brian short tees have 2 just under 400 a couple over 3 and half are 200-240
Jeff Lozowsky and Jason Jopps both strike tonight with Aces to our first trip to Waterworks. Jeff cashed in early on his second hole, and Jason smashed chains on his 5th hole. Despite cold temps, it seemed as everyone had a good time. Jopps also takes 2 CTPs, and the other going to Lozowsky.
Thank you to all that continue to come out to play. I hope that you are enjoying your rounds. Special shout out to our Jackson crew who come in every week for the round. I appreciate your support. if ther ...

Thanks for hosting Scott. Getting to see 6 Aces in 5 weeks makes it worth the drive. Not to mention the scores are already up by the time we get home. Good stuff!
I am trying to stay on top of things.....life is too busy with two little kids. Glad you all are having a good time. I am happy to see so many guys coming out each week. And 6 aces in 5 weeks is a little insane. Let's see if we can continue that pace next week.
Dress warm, it is going to be a little chilly. Glow at Waterworks tonight at 7pm. There is some snow on the ground, making the locating of glow discs more challenging. Time to get those LEDs on your discs gang. I will have some available tonight, Foz has some as well. I will try to get there by 6:30 at the latest. Chance of double points is looking good for DGLA points. A reminder, WC Glow does not currently offer double points for 15 degrees or less.
By popular request, we are going to move this week's round to Waterworks park in Ypsi. This was one of the courses that was being considered at the beginning of the year to use for our league. Much like Bandy, it is a 9 hole course which features three different sets of tees. We will keep the same start time of 7pm. Send me a message if you have any questions. If not, I will see you all on Wednesday evening.
blast of arctic air!* at least we know the tees won't be muddy
7 pm, 18 deg (feels like 3 deg), 16 mph winds... Might not be any water holes either.
might be scary to play the skip off the ice on 2/3....layer up gang, its going to be cold no matter where we play
Great night for golf! Warm temps in December for Michigan. Good night for scoring as three teams tied at -10 from Blue & Red tees.. A few newer faces tonight, we were glad you came out to join us. CTPs taken home by Brett Russell, Ben Ross, and Scott Sprow. Highlight of the night goes to Brooke Plantz for taking a birdie on 8 Blue. We are back at it next week. Keep your eyes open for a post about course location. Right now it is either Waterworks or Bandy...if you have a preference please send me a message. If I don't hear anything, I will make the call by Saturday afternoon.
WC Glow returns to Bandemer Park tonight for our round. Temps look great high 40s/low 50s. A chance of some rain the forecast at the start of the round, but gets more favorable as we move into the evening. A few CTPs offered again this week so bring a few extra dollars - $10 all in. Free pre-round CTP to be conducted just before we start the round tonight.
It was a night to remember, that is for sure. League newbie Scotty Reslock and Brett Russell teamed up to take first place. Both Scott Sprow(#4) and Jeff Lozowsky(#6) recorded aces. Ben Ross takes home CTPs on hole 3 and 7, while Sprow takes home CTP on #14. Ace pool sits at $39. We return to Bandy next week. Looking to play another course soon. More discussion to take place next week. Looking for feedback on where you want to play. As always, please let me know if you have questions or suggestions on how we can make it a good experience for all.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
Forget the bar, glow is where its at! We are playing at Mary Beth Doyle tonight. Tee off at 7 o'clock be there early to put LEDs on discs and make sure your bag is ready to go. A few CTPs could be offered as well bring a few extra dollars. See you later tonight have a good day.
Hell, do both... Glow at 7 pm and then hit the bar at 10 pm. Get this holiday weekend started tonight ! CHA!!!
Great clear night for glow tonight. Thank you to all that came out tonight. Thank you to Ben Ross who donated a New Lost Disc Tribe stamped disc for a CTP(check out their league on Sundays at 12 noon)....Highlight of the night has to be Timmy Redman who joined league tonight AND smashed hole 14 for an ace, taking home $60 in the process....talk about making a statement. Ron Howard takes home 2 CTPs and Ninja Nate takes the 3rd CTP. Back at MBD next Wednesday for league. Have a great week and we'll see you next Wednesday for glow.
The ace totally makes up for shooting -16 and not cashing! LOL!
We are at MBD tonight....be there by 7pm tee off. A few CTPs offered tonight as well. LEDs available prior to round from. See you all tonight.
Thank you to those who came out to brave the cold this evening....not great conditions to play, but hope you all had a good time. CTPs went to Ron Howard, Ben Ross(nearly acing 6Red), and Bo Fought. Brooke and Mike take the win tonight. Y 1 stroke. We move to MBD for next week's round. Have a good week and see you next Wednesday.
A colder night for sure...Temps appear to be hovering in the low 30s/high 20s for tonight's round. Don't let that scare you off. Plenty of good days to come yet before winter ACTUALLY gets here.
All in tonight for $10. A few CTPs offered tonight as in the past few weeks. Please be ready to go by 7pm. See you all tonight.
Yes Brooke, at Bandy tonight. We played white-red last week so probably something different tonight.
Thank you to all who came out tonight to play glow at Bandemer. A little windy, but warm for Novemebr and the rain even held off
Good night if your last name is Jopps. Team Jopps take home a win, and Jason cashes in on the ace pool, knocking in the ace on 5 Red. Congrats! Cash CTPs earned by Shane Brayton(2), and Foz Miller. Thank you to Ben Ross who donated a Magnet and a mini as a CTP this evening, which was won by Tim Weir. Ben runs the Lost Disc Tribe club out of the Jackson area. Please co ...

Looks like it could be a little wet at the beginning of the round. Don't let a little water scare you off. Come out to glow while we still have decent temps.
LEDs available from myself or Foz if you need them. A few CTPs planned as well. Bring a few extra dollars: $10 ALL IN!
Thanks to those who came out tonight to glow and we even beat the rain. We are back at Bandemer next week. As always, I am open to input if you have ideas to make this a enjoyable experience.
Looks like you guys had fun last week, I am sorry I missed it. Bring a few extra bucks for CTPs. Looks to be decent weather for the round. Should beat any rain that might be in the forecast.
As usual, LEDs will be available for sale before the round. Also have a some Buzzz GT discs left if you are interested....a few colors to pick from.
Have a good day....see you soon.
This week we move across to Mary Beth Doyle for the round. In fact, we will be at MBD for this week(10/23) and next(10/30). Start time remains the same: 7pm.
I will not be in attendance this week. Foz will be running the show. Bring a few extra dollars as there may be some CTPs offered this week.
Have a good Monday.
Thank you to those who came out tonight to play. Saw a few new faces and hope that they continue to join us each week. Good numbers tonight....17 players in total. Played Blues and Reds tonight and there were some good scores posted.
Next two weeks (10-23 and 10-30) we will be at Mary Beth Doyle. Same start time of 7pm. I will not be in attendance next week, so Foz is in charge. Please bring a few extra dollars as we have tentatively planned some CTPs.
Have a good week.
Guys, I had a BLAST last night. Looking forward to a lot more glow with you guys.
More info to come, but the remainder needs some revisions. Here are the basics of the league.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS 7PM
With input from several league participants, we will try rotating between Bandemer, MBD, and possibly another course or two during the league season. First 4 weeks will be locked in between Bandemer and MBD.
First official night is October 9th. League finale will be on March 6th.
We currently play best shot – doubles.

Hoping to see many of you out on Wednesday night for the first GLOW round. 7pm at Bandy. Have some new Z BUZZZ GT discs for sale: $20/ea. Five colors available: orange, pink, purple, white, and smoke.
Tees will depend on what is available. Course is still looking a little rough due to some storms from a few weeks back-although some of the major issues have been addressed (thank you Parks & Recreation). A few tees not super playable yet but we will see what cleanup takes place this week.
sounds like a good idea to glow more!! glow forever!!
More Glow - Yes a summer glow would be fun - late night fun. Scott enjoy your week off - don't work to hard. I'm down next week. I think I may go try the indoor putting league in Brighton this week before Ypsi Dubs starts up on Tuesdays. CHAAAAA
I am not able to play this week but I am very interested in a spring/summer glow league.
yeah Foz come on out guaranteed good times...
i heard about a possible friday night glow league popping up this spring/summer, more news to come
Out this week, packing for Colorado Thursday and the allure of warmer weather and green grass.
Any solution to the parks closing early (Dusk / 10 pm) and the daylight lasting longer (almost 9 pm)??? I would be there on occassion, but not sure of a weekly commitment in the Summer.
I'm putting together plans to run a Saturday night league at Waterworks actually.
the park technically closes at 10
If nothing else, I have a layout for Lakeshore in mind that could allow late night glow with minimum to no affect on residents.
1-C. 15, 12, 13, D-9 for 18 holes.
im thinking of running a glow league at marion township park, wide open and no closing of the park as far as i know. I realize not allot of people play at this course, but Its close to home, free to play, and a great course for glow.
