We are back! There was a very good turn out of players for the first summer session of handicap at Riverfront Park. Big Al Ford destroyed the competition and took home first. Brian Zygmunt banged his way to second and Mike Schweitzer got third. There were two $10 cash CTP's. One went to Eddie Kirksey and the other to Andy Kimbel. There were two donate a disc CTP's. One went to Jeff Bone and one went to Mike Schweitzer. Congrats to all. Looking forward to a fun summer.
Had six teams of doubles for just the fun of it. Scores were: Jeff / Mike 52 John / Aaron 55 Juan / Matt 56 Eric / Bill 56 Ray / Patrick 60 Todd / Dan 60. Usf will be closed for a couple weeks
Come to the disc course at 22nd st. park. It is north on 22nd. st. from Sligh Ave. A bunch of disc golfers will be there at the regular time 10:30.
We hope that the weather will cooperate with us for the handicap this Sunday. Please bring an extra dollar because we want to celebrate a really good season with a cook-out right after the handicap is finished. Al Ford will be bringing supplies and anyone who also would like to bring something to share is welcome to. It will be a good time, so please try to make it out.
I know someone rode home from handicap with a big smile. He beat the young one by six strokes. He won the $10 CTP. He took home first place. Congratulations Tod Cronk. Adam Brown also tore up the course and took second with Al Ford going home with third. Eddie Kirksey got the beer CTP. Have you heard about this Sunday?
10 players showed up to play doubles on the new course at 22nd St park. Eric Cigrand and Patrick Rush took the day. If you have not played this course yet, what are you waiting for? Check it out. Have you heard about this Sunday?
We are catching up on some scores. Jeff Bone took home the first place, Tom Martin got second place and Aaron Cronk got third. Adam Brown won the $10 CTP. Have you heard about next Sunday?
The Riverfront Park is open, but because Sunday is Easter, we will not have handicap that day. Those players who are looking for something to do on Sunday morning, please come to the 22ND St. course and play some doubles at the regular time. 10:30.
Slow on getting the scores out this week ,but it gives a chance to remind everyone to come out for handicap tomorrow. Eric CiGrand took #1, Jeff Bone was 2nd and got the Cookie CTP, Gary Duke was 3rd and Jean Carlos got the $10 CTP. See you tomorrow!
The City Of Tampa has finally installed a Disc Golf Course. The baskets are in and it is ready for play. Be sure to warm up because hole #1 is a wide open 700 Ft. toss. The park is on 22nd St. just North of Sligh Ave. Park by the ball field and walk north in the open field. Near the power pole is tee #1
Hope to see a lot of players out at handicap this Sunday. If your open on Saturday, here is a posting:Fellow Fliers,
If you were at our most recent handicap event on Sunday, you heard from Patrick King and Joe G. regarding the installation of a new course in Tampa. Patrick is asking for our support in helping with the installation of basket sleeves and tee pads. This will be the very first public course in Tampa and from what I hear, it is located on some beautiful acreage located on the hi ...

One word: WINDY. Tom Martin tamed the wind, took home first place and the girl scout cookies CTP donated by John Fleming. Jeff Hawley continued his winning ways and took second with Albert ( BAA ) Bonilla taking third. Brian Zygmunt's rested arm threw the $10 CTP. The park is closed next week for spring break, so take a road trip and play one of the other courses.
Keeping it in the family, this week it was Jeff Hawley's turn to take home first place. Adam Brown took second and Bob Counts got third. Jeff Bone put his disc within a foot of hole 3 and got the CTP. While visiting from New York, Curtis Bayer came back to throw with us. Great seeing him! Gary Duke was away competing with his dog and they set a new record. BIG CONGRATULATIONS!
I incorrectly posted that John Fleming had hit the first ace for this season. Back in October Brian Zgmunt hit the first ace. SORRY! Congratulations to you both.
Congratulations to John Fleming , not only did he shoot an excellent round on a windy day that was good for second place, he also hit the first ace of this season. Jacob Hawley is improving and took first place. Todd Cronk showed Aaron that he too can bring home the cash with a third place score. Scott Collipp and Bob Counts hit the money CTP's and Albert Bonilla got the third CTP, a book signed by it's famous ( and now rich ) writer. Welcome to our new players, Robert and Colleen Hegyi and thanks to Gary duke for bringing them out.
On one of the coldest days we have had this winter, I am proud to say that we had a good turn out for the handicap. John Fleming did not let the extra layers of clothes slow him down and he won first place with the lowest score of the day. Steve Szykulski continued his winning ways by taking second place and the CTP on hole 17. Aaron Cronk also had a good day, taking third place and the CTP on hole 6. Adam Brown's very first throw of the day was good for the CTP on hole 12. Welcome to our newest player, Ruben Vega. Thanks to eveyone for coming out and keeping our handicap strong.
Super Bowl Sunday and we had a great turn out. Steve Szykulski had a super day taking first place. Two of our new players cashed in with Jeff Hawley taking second and Jordan Geist got third. It is so great, sunny mid 70's at the end of January, I hope all our northern friends are jealous. We had three new players added this week. Scott Collipp, Jacob Hawley and Mike Ousley. Welcome to all of you! It was an especially good day for Jeff Bone. Jeff took first place and won a $10 CTP. Albert Bonilla took home some beer money with a second place finish. Al Ford did it again with a third place finish and a $10 CTP. It was a good turn out today, lets keep it going. Super Bowl is next week but there is plenty of time to play handicap before the party begins.
Good turn out this week. Welcome to our new player Jeff Hawley. This week Steve Szykulski brought his game and took first. Steady Al Ford took second and Mel Hancock got third. Patrick Rush took home a $10 CTP and Eric CiGrand celebrated with a $10 CTP and a beer CTP. Congratulations to all. Everyone, be sure to check out the new video by Al Ford. Thanks Al! It's great.
Here we are in a new year and back to Sunday morning handicap. There was a tie for first place and Al Ford won the throw off with Brian Zygmunt taking second. Jeff Bone took home third. There were two $10 CTP's. One won by Albert Bonilla on his first throw of the day and the other won by Eddie Kirksey. Welcome to our newest player, Jordan Geist who teamed up with Chuck Cole for doubles after the handicap and came out the winners. Hope to see more of the players out next week.
10 players came out to Medard for a doubles round and had a good time. Hope everyone has an enjoyable Christmas weekend and a fun and safe New Years weekend. Enjoy your time off and hit some courses. See you all in the new year.
12 players showed up at Medard Park on Sunday and had a great time playing doubles. Scores were close and two teams tied for the lowest round. They had such a good time and they want to do it again. So, Sunday at 10:30 we will meet again at Medard for doubles. Bring your friends!
Another beautiful weather day and a good showing by the players leads us into the Holiday break. Eric Cigrand took first and won a nice payout. Chuck Cole took a solid second and John Fleming won a throw-off to take home third. Mr.CTP- Brian Zygmunt got the first $10 ctp on hole 7, Adam Brown squeezed one out on hole 17 for the second $10 ctp and Chuck Cole donated for a ctp on the tough hole 15 only to win it himself. Congrats to all. Welcome to a new player Bill Mauge. There was a spirited and ... more
A sign at USF says that it is closed until Monday. It looks like people are going to use this time to try different courses. See everyone on 12-4-11.
A great day! Perfect weather and five new players starting to establish. Welcome Jamie Vento, Candy Roque, Tom Martin, Jon Nowokunski and Brian Nowokunski. On a side note: Candy Roque recently placed in the money playing at the pro level and Jon & Brian Nowokunski were asked to officiate The State Final Volleyball games. Great people play disc golf. Jeff Bone brought his game and took first. Al Ford grabbed second and Patrick Rush took home third. We also had four ctp holes for $5 - #5 Mike Schweitzer #9 Brian Zygmunt #13 Mike Schweitzer #16 Al Ford.
If anyone has been thinking about trying night golf, they have been having a large turnout at Coachman Park on Thursday nights. This is a random draw doubles.
Brian Zygmunt came back from a toe injury to take first place. Todd Cronk got his first money taking second place and almost beating Aaron. Jeff Bone took third place for the second week in a row. Chuck Cole and John Fleming each went home with an $8 CTP. Congratulations to all!
Another beautiful Florida day in November provided the right combination for Patrick Rush to throw one of his best rounds and come away with first place. Chuck Cole put out his best effort this season and came away with second and Jeff Bone put his drive about 5 feet away from hole 8 which helped him take third and win the $6 CTP. Mike Schweitzer won the not so CTP on hole 1 for $7.
Next week the darkness will come early. This will limit playing time for many of the players to just weekends. I would like to find a night and a time where we can get some players together at the practice basket next to the intramural fields on campus. I have an idea for some team putting competition and would like to see if we can develope a fun way to get some practice. Please let me know if you would be interested and what night and time would work for the most players.
On a breezy day, John Fleming found his game and took first place. Gary Duke, who a week earlier had traveled to Texas with his dog and took 8th in the worlds ( CONGRATULATIONS! ), took 2nd place and won one of the $10 CTP's. Our leader, Bob Counts, took 3rd. Downtown Adam Brown won the second $10 CTP and Mike Schweitzer won a third CTP, which was a small cooler full of Heineken and an opener donated by Chuck Cole. The ace fund has hit the cap which will allow us to build the club fund and ... more
This week there was a smaller turnout ( 12 Players ) due to the Orlando Tournament. Bob Countz won first place. Albert Bonilla won second place and Al Ford took third place. The $10 CTP was won by Bob Countz ( good day for Bob ).
With 22 players now qualified, expect bigger payouts for the top three in coming weeks! Also, the Ace fund should hit its cap of $50 next weekend. When that happens, more $$ will go to the CTP's. Look for 2 $10 CTP's next Sunday!
Another good showing for a make up day. The park was very busy and we had to use an alternate hole, but everyone still had a good time. Justin Gillespie won first place. Mike Schweitzer got second place and Al ( Steel Reserve ) Ford took third. John Fleming won the CTP on the alternate hole and Charles Nelson took home the big prize winning the fundraiser CTP. Welcome to the new players, Tod and Aaron Cronk.
On Sunday 10-16-11 the park is closed. We will try to play that day's round on SATURDAY 10-15-11 at 10:30. See you there!
Thanks to everyone for coming out on our make-up day. John E McCray shot the low round for the day with some impressive putting. For the established players, Mike Schweitzer got first place, Bob Counts and Brian Zygmunt tied for second and Brian won the throw-off to break the tie. Brian has emerged as the CTP KING. For the second week in a row Brian earned a CTP and this time he took both CTP's. Congratulations Brian! Also want to congratulate Mel Hancock. Mel did his second round to establish and shot his best score to date.
Handicap today, Tuesday, at 4:30. Pass the word.
Handicap is established after the first two rounds and each successive round will adjust your handicap. Handicap does not restart after 3 rounds, but is continuously calculated throughout the season.
Handicap scores are adjustedto the exact decimal point for the purpose of payouts. Your disc golf scene score will differ slightly as that system rounds scores.
In the event that 5 or fewer players show up, the handicap is cancelled.
In the event that the park is closed, handicap for that day is ...

The heavy rain has cancelled the round for today. We also have a problem next Sunday. The park will be closed for a private party. We would like to make up todays round on Tuesday 10/11 at 4:30. Please respond if you can make it on Tuesday so that we can see if there will be enough players. We also would like to rescedule next Sunday's round to 10:30 am on Saturday.
Bright sunny skies and a touch of fall temperatures made for a great day. Eddie Kirsey was the winner among the players who have qualified. Patrick Rush took 2nd and Bob Counts took 3rd. The stars were aligned for Brian Zygmunt. Brian hit the first ace of the season on hole 16 and took home the bag-o-discs CTP on hole 6. Enoch Lowry stopped in to play with us and took home the cash CTP on hole 17. Congratulations Enoch, good to meet and play a round with you.

Week 2 at Riverfront Handicap had a strong showing despite the number of players who could not make it because they were in the Taylor Park tournament. 5 New players ups our group to an even 20, a great start! Andrew Antoni was in the top three scores and walked away with the CTP prize which was $20 from entry fees, and $10 from buy-ins, netting him $30. Good job Andrew!
Next week begins league play with 5 players qualified. Prizes for next week will go to the top 3 qualified players. Those ...

Today we began the 2011 / 2012 Season with a good turn out of 15 players. Everyone is establishing so a winning pot was available to be won after the round was completed. The top three scores did a CTP to hole 1 and anyone else who wanted a chance could pay an additional $2 and get in the CTP. A wise investment by Chuck Cole and a good shot sent him home with the first pot. Congratulations Chuck! It was a little windy, but I am not sure that was the reason for some poor scores. I am sure we will ... more

6-3-2012 Handicap
Wow! FIVE CTP's? Each one $10. I do not have the list of all the players that won, but what a good day to come and try the handicap for the first time. Justin Schueller did that and he went home with a $10 CTP and $50 for an ace on hole 12. Good first day. Congratulations Justin! Justin took his winnings and went to the store. He came back with cold brew for all those who stayed for doubles. Congratulations to all of you that took home cash and thanks Justin for sharing the wealth. See you on Sunday.
