This contest is for people to adopt holes at Lake Township Park and see who can make the best improvements to a particular hole over the summer.
Judging Categories:
*** Aesthetics. Make the hole look pretty. Remember that this is a public park so conservative style landscaping that doesn’t look completely out of place will score very well.
*** Playability. This does NOT mean making the hole easier to play. Creative solutions to making play more challenging or interesting will be rewarded.
Safety. There are a few areas that could use some safety enhancements. A great example is the tee pad on 7 would benefit from some sort of protection from errant tee shots coming from the #5 tee pad.
Rules:
*** ALL changes to any hole must be approved by the contest director before the changes are made. Failure to complete this step will result in disqualification.
*** No reimbursements will be made for materials purchased for improvements. This might be a financial burden but this is a great opportunity to get local businesses or organizations to sponsor your efforts.
*** Advertising from sponsoring organizations or companies is allowed. Just be reasonable about it and keep it family friendly. 2’x5’ banners and the like by the tee pad are certainly fine so long as it does not interfere with play.
*** All work will be judged at some point on or after 9/5/21.
*** Do your best not to interfere with tournaments or leagues occurring at the course.
*** Hole adoption is on a first come first serve basis.
*** The club owns 7 sleeves for alternate basket locations. These are free to contestants to use however they are available on a first come first serve basis. Please see the contest director on how to install the sleeves. Yes, there is a specific way we want it done. ;)
Additional Items:
*** Rules might be added or removed to this document as needed. We will do our best to minimize this but will also be sure to make announcements either via email or on the SRDGC Facebook page.
*** Please make sure any improvements that are started are finished by 9/5
