Mallards Hideout dubs Sunday 10-20-24

Ok, if anyone is interested I want to have an ""unofficial" official" round this Sunday 10-20-24 as a warmup to getting league started up again.. my place 11:00 tee, doubles. I am putting the ace pool in play too if I get 3+people. It was left off at $170 I'm going to bump it up to an even $200 plus a solid pre-round giveaway game.. It's quite beautiful out here right now and I have an awesome 20 hole layout set up. $10 all in. I appreciate a heads up if your thinking of coming out.

Rolling singles (half stroke nelson) Sunday 5-4-23

Planning for rolling this week think I'm going to take the fam to the water park scootering etc, and I'll hop over and run the league at 3. Thinking maybe short tees OG course. Going to try out a new format this week for fun - Half stroke Nelson - if you hit metal basket and up but don't make it, but then make it on your next shot you subtract a half stroke. So say I had a 40 ft birdie putt hit chains but didn't make it but then tapped it in I would get a 2.5. I can clarify and answer any questions at reg.

Mallards Hideout This Sunday 5-21-23

My place this week. The course happens to be uncharacteristically dry for late may and the skeeters haven't popped yet. Normally it dries up just in time for Skeeter season so I figured we should take advantage of this. I'm going call it unfriendly for carts currently. I haven't mowed the field except for tee pads and a couple paths, and there are still a few damp spots in the woods. Planning a "new" 18 hole figure 8 layout, but it will include many familiar holes, and some new ones. Might do singles might do doubles I'll take a consensus with whoever shows up.

Willow Singles 5-7-23

Planning Willow Singles, 18 holes Long Tees.
The layout will skip 3 pairs of holes. After 9, skip 10 & 11 and go straight to 12. After 12, skip 13 and 14 and go straight to 15, and after 18, skip 19 and 20 and go straight to 21. This will flow nicely and there will be no long walks.
A purely numerical reference to the layout is as follows;
1-9,12,15-18, 21-24.

Melvindale Palmer park singles 4-30-23

Going to melvindale this Sunday for singles. We will do a layout similar to that of brownstown with the back 9 being all combos. I'll post a pin for parking as a response to this post. The layout will be as follows;
Holes 1-9 as designed, then 9 combo holes. The combo holes will be as follows in this order.
1 tee - 2 pin, 3t - 4p, 5t - 6p*, 7t - 8p, 9t - 1p, 2p - 3p, 4t - 5p, 6t - 7p, 8t - 9p.
*5t-6p is only about 80' par 2 and will not be in play for ace pool.

Lakeshore Singles - Woods Longs 4-23-23

Woods Longs tees this Sunday with one "twist' to the layout.
The "twist" to the layout will play as follows;
Hole 1's tee shall play to hole 16's basket, and hole 16's tee shall play to hole 1's basket.*
All holes will play from their respective "long" tee given the hole has two tees. Any holes with multiple pins will play to the long pin. All normal OBs will be in play including OBs marked by PVC pipes, on and over designated roads and walking paths, rooftops, water hazards, etc. *Please be courteous and give right of way to other groups when playing non-typical layout holes.

Farmhouse DOUBLES 4-16-23 3:00 pm tee.

Heading to the west side of Ann Arbor this Sunday for doubles at The Farmhouse. Tim Gacioch has a nice mixed tee layout setup for us. I believe the address is correct for the course here on DGS. Tim also mentioned to me that the course will be open earlier in the day for anyone who want to practice before the league round.

Willow Singles 4-2-23

Due to all the rain we will play the dry loop 2x. Once from longs once from shorts.
The loop will be 1-3,18-24 longs followed by 1-3, 18-24 shorts. A total of 20 holes.
In and over the creek on holes 1, 23 and 24 is OB.

Brownstown Middle 3-19-23 3:00 p.m. Tee

Sunday we'll be dancing with Mr. Brownstown to see who can stick it in the middle, and shoot it in the middle, and drive it outta their mind, or at least try to get a little better, said a little better than before...
The layout will be as follows; Holes 1-9 as designed, an extra hole (my green basket, lets call it #10), then a series on 9 sequential combo holes. For a total of 19 holes.

Details of today's layout (2-19-23)

Today's layout;
Woods Course shorts but with two long combo holes - Hole 1 long tee to 2 pin (Mando right of wood pile) and hole 16 long tee to 17 pin.
*Add holes 1 and 18 shorts from the ponds course to make it a total of 18 holes.
If you miss the Mando on 1-2 drop by the wood pile. All normal ob are in play, inside any PVC markers and over the road on the Hole by the lake.

North Bay Park SKINS match 2-5-23

Gotta love February for finally pulling through with the chilliness we needed to make it back to the fabled and legendary north bay park bumblebee trashcan course on ford lake in ypsilanti. Basically, the course plays over an archipelago of tiny islands on ford lake, connected by wooden bridges. Gotta love February for finally pulling through with the chilliness we needed to make it back to the fabled and legendary north bay park bumblebee trashcan course on ford lake in ypsilanti. If your not familiar click on the course here on DGS and go to the comments to find further details. Basically, the course plays over an archipelago of tiny islands on ford lake, connected by wooden bridges. The course is only playable when there is solid walkable ice, which we will have Sunday if the forecast remains the same. If your disc is on ice, it is considered a hazard, and you play from your lie on the ice and take a stroke. Just about every island has a trash can, and we play from island to island, striking the trashcan as a target. Nothing quite like it, always exciting.

The format for this Sunday will be just $10 all in.. for a skins match. I'll pull $2 for ace pool Trash can aces will only pay $100. It will be winner take all, one tie all tie. So a mob skins round, should be pretty interesting. Park at the Huron Road Park and Ride carpool area across the street from bdubs. I'll drop a pin in reply.

Willow Singles - Park at the DIRT lot.

We are postponing the round at Mike Ks and throwing willow. I have an 18 hole mixed tees layout planned. Long tees holes 1-3, 18-24. Followed by short tees 1-3, 22-24. Followed by hole 25 (the shot down the lane past 24 over the creek to the practice basket) and then a safari hole to my basket over by the dirt lot. 18 holes.. Simple, right?

Rolling Hills Singles 11-20-22 - The Foz

I'm heading to rolling this Sunday, going to play The Foz (rolling meadows) course. There is supposed to be a lot of work being done on the course Saturday, Im looking forward to seeing the improvements.. I plan on playing odd long tees - even short tees and adding two temp holes for a total of 20 holes

Melvindale Civic Center Singles 11-6-22

Checking this place out on Sunday. I heard it is better now than it used to be and has 12 holes now. I plan to make a decent layout of it. This is not the other Melvindale course we played before (melvindale palmer park) but the one at the civic center. Short holes MVP baskets might catch an ace who knows. I'll put a pin for the lot.

Plan for some new holes this Sunday. I still have the course in the Grit and Grace ladies league 9 hole configuration from monday. I will have doubles my place tonight (thursday) at 5:30 and do two rounds on that layout then I'm going to change it to a whole new layout for Sunday. the tournament is over and I'm going to go back to the drawing board and try something new with it the land. So come on out to try some new holes.. this will be the beginning of the process for creating the 2023 Flight Path Open Tournament layout.

Willow Singles 10-2-22 ONE DISC CHALLENGE

Heading to Willow this week for some fun in the October sun. I have a normal league round planned, singles with multiple divisions, but one little stipulation... we will be doing a ONE DISC CHALLENGE round. Players may choose any one single disc (putter, midrange or driver - your choice) to throw the entire round with. Please remember to bring a mini to mark your lie. We will be playing short tees, should be a fun time.

League still on today despite a few drops early this morning. Course has cement tees and innova baskets. Pre round CTP for what else? A broiled chicken! No, not really, but that would be hilarious. Ben says don't bring a cart it is very hilly and steep in spots.

New league - Same format

Welcome, you have found the new page. Not missing a beat, the new season will start this Sunday 9-25-22. We will make a bit of a pilgrimage, all the way out to manchester to play the brand new course designed by Ben Calhoun - Chi Bro park. If anyone wants to carpool message me and maybe we can figure something out. I love seeing a new course and this sounds like a good one, being wooded with elevation. We will be back to more familiar and local courses after this but I figured it would be fun to kick off the season with something fresh and new. Good times await, see you out there.
