Season Recap

I want to start by thanking you all for coming out to keep playing disc golf through the winter with us at Saggy Britches. I feel like we've all gotten to know each other pretty well and it's been really cool to become friends with all of you.

We had 51 players come over the course of the last 5 months and consistently had 14-20 people.

We had our Ace Pool hit twice this season once by Chris K and once by Sean D.

We gave out hundreds of CTPs (discs, shirts, hats, minis, ... more

We had our Ace Pool hit twice this season once by Chris K and once by Sean D.

We gave out hundreds of CTPs (discs, shirts, hats, minis, etc...)

Congratulations to Gavin King for winning the league with most all time points, earned by attending the most and playing consistently well.

I know the points awarded from DGS are a little weird, we will correct that for the summer league.

We had 16 players and some nice weather and no wind last night. Jay / Max cleaned up 1st place and a rare appearance from Dave C/ Aaron O took 2nd.

2.21.23 Glow Recap

We had a good group last night, it was a little cold and cloudy, but not too windy. There were a lot of groups that shot really well despite the cold this week Mike O / Sean D took first by a stroke (congrats Mike on his first 1st place finish), Gavin K / Cody M were hot on their heels at -10.

2.14.23 Glow Recap

We had a good showing of guys who's significant others really let them do whatever they want on Valentine's day.

Jay B/Gavin K took solo first by a stroke, Randall E/Jason S tied Sean D/Thomas V, Sean/Tom won the CTP throw off for second place cash

Jeff G -- won CTP on 1 for the cash

Thanks all who came out, I believe I have the points corrected to how they were before the standings look correct.

End of season awards ceremony will be at Lakeshore on 3/14 after the first Summer League round (~7pm) in the parking lot by the store.

Summer Travel League Starting 3.14.23

Hey everyone as many of you know after daylight savings time we switch to our travel summer league, it's free to play, with optional ace and CTP buy in. We do unconventional rounds and it's all about having fun, the details are on the other league page.

We will be awarding 1 Amateur State Championship Berth based on point accumulation within the first 10 weeks of the league. I've added everyone to the league, but in case you need the link it's here.

Glow Recap 2.7.23

Great turnout last night everyone we had 20 people so just enough to pay out 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We played longs and shorts, it was a little muddy and windy but we had some good shooters regardless.

Dear Mayor Hammoud and Sean Fletcher,

I am sending this note in support of considering a disc golf course in the city of Dearborn. I know over last summer Dearborn Hills was closed for golf and that it’s situated in a flood plane on the west side of Telegraph so it can be hard to keep playable for ball golf, I believe that property could be a great location for disc golf in Dearborn, because disc golf doesn’t require the level of maintenance of golf.

A few benefits disc golf would have for the property and the residents include:
We are using discs instead of balls (less likely to injure any kids or pets in their backyards)
The course design prevents any discs from ending near any property lines
Much less grounds keeping required (less mowing, leaf blowing and tractor noise for residents adjacent to the park)
Trash cans on the course on pretty much every tee pad should prevent any risk of trash or anything else building up
A paying crowd will bring in people who respect the property and the sport
Having something using the property (since there is no ball golf) should help prevent vandalism and other riff raff hanging out on the property just due to the traffic
Opportunity for the City of Dearborn to diversify it’s revenue from that property with lower maintenance than a golf course (Hosting Tournaments, Pro Shop, Renting Golf Carts, Concessions, On site Bar and place to hang out)

I know personally if you did choose to use the golf course I’d be willing to pay to play a nicely maintained course and would buy a drink from the clubhouse and spend time there with my friends if this became a reality.
Even if you choose not to use Dearborn Hills Golf Course I’d like you to consider bringing disc golf to the city of Dearborn on another property. It’s a low impact sport people of all ages, shapes and sizes can enjoy. It’s also a good sport for muslim women who may wear hijab that can make playing more intense sports uncomfortable.

Glow Recap 1.31.23

We had quite the battle at the top this week, with adverse conditions, slippery tee pads and a little wind Jay B/Jason H, Nate B/Gavin K, Chris K/Max B all tied at -7 and they threw off CTPs for cash and took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in that order.

Nate B after hemming and hawing decided to buy in for CTPs and ended up taking home the merch CTP

We had 14 people show up for a round of LONG/LONG. The winds were down and the temps weren't too bad. It did steadily drizzle all night long.

Newcomer Nate Barton and Cody Martin took down 1st place shooting -6. We had a tie for 2nd between Jason H./Mike K. and Jay B./Todd C both shooting -5, Jay B/Todd C won the CTP throw-off for sole second. Glow Recap 1/17/23

We had 14 brave souls that come out Tuesday to brave the weather. It started as a decent day, but turned very quickly. We played 2 rounds of shorts. We also had some more new faces. Thanks to all that keep coming out.

Jay B and Cody M shot hot round -10 for 1st place. Jason H and Max B were hot on their heels -9 for 2nd. Jeff G took home the cash CTP and Jason H won the Merch CTP.

Glow Recap 1/10/23

Hello, we had 14 people come out Tuesday for glow.

We ran into an issue where there wasn't a score card kept for a group of 6. Unfortunately we will not accept any VERBAL scores. We will also not accept +/- scores. You need to provide a TOTAL score for the round, and you will need to score every hole. These are OUR rules because this is a points based league along with payout. If there is no scorecard, then there is no record of you playing. We are also a UDISC league, if you don't ... more

Hello, we had 14 people come out Tuesday for glow.

We ran into an issue where there wasn't a score card kept for a group of 6. Unfortunately we will not accept any VERBAL scores. We will also not accept +/- scores. You need to provide a TOTAL score for the round, and you will need to score every hole. These are OUR rules because this is a points based league along with payout. We use UDISC for a reason and it's not complicated. EVERY ONE of you have a phone that works, I know you do. You found the league, you are capable of keeping score. If for some reason there is an issue with U-Disc league, keep a standard U-Disc card, get a paper scorecard. There are plenty of ways to keep score digitally without using the APP. I also don't know of ANY league or tournament that allows verbal scores.

Unfortunately the group of 6 who didn't turn in a card, you will all only get 2 points this week, with a score of 54.

Finally, ANY CONFRONTAIONS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. We are a FUN based GROW THE SPORT League, PERIOD. If you don't like the rules SB have put in place, come see Myself or Sean to discuss it.

Saggy Britches First Tournament - Saturday

I know most of you guys are already registered but we'd love to have you join us if you aren't. Should be a good time to relax with friends and try to make some Aces.

We are doing a custom Ace Race course layout with a ton of super short holes (Ace Race Layout) on Udisc.

Only $15 to play 100% goes to payouts (Par = 1 nothing hit, Metal Hit = 2 points, Ace = 10 points) so even if you just hit cage a few times you've got a good chance of taking home some cash.

We had 8 folks make it out in the rain last night and despite the conditions Mike K/Chris K and Randal E/Jeff G both shot -9 and Mike/Chris pulled out a win on the CTP throwoff.

Jason H won cash CTP and Jay B won the discs (thanks Mike and Mike for bringing discs)

12/20: we had a good showing and tons of generous donations for the Taylor Homeless Shelter (Christnet) they really appreciated everything you guys gave them.

12/27: Had a couple familiar faces out we haven't seen in awhile and a new member Norm Copeland.

The Holiday Season

Todd and I discussed wanting to do something special for the Holidays with our league.

We decided we want to help the homeless shelter in Taylor, so if you bring supplies off this list we will mark you down for a free CTP entry for next week 12/20 and the following week 12/27.

We had some good shooting last night to pair with the good weather. We play 18 short so ace opportunities were in play and I know on our card a handful were close.

We had 3 teams tie for first at -12 (Gavin K / Randall E), (Kid S / Matt S), and (Todd C / Sean D) we had a CTP throw off on hole 2 long for the larger share of the cash, and cash was won in the same order stated above.

But close on those 3 teams heels we had two -11 scores and a -9.

We had a crowd a whopping 22 people and a total of 5 cards, everyone played at a good pace even the 6 card and we wrapped up by 8:40p playing the short 18 layout.

We had a tie at the top between Jake A/Brett M and Sean D/Randall E both at -9, they elected to split the 1st and 2nd place winnings. Third place was Eli R/Tom S only 1 stroke back from that first place team.

Although we had repeating numbers in the date, we didn't have any repeating partner names like we've had in the past (Mikey/Mike or Aaron/Aaron)

We ended up with great winter weather for glow, pretty dark conditions (if you ignore everyone's front porch lights) and no wind which allowed for some good scoring conditions.

Brett/Sean started out hot on the front 9 getting 8 of 9 birdies and cooled off on the back 9 but with enough cushion to hold on to first and finish at -11. ... more

More Exciting News!

End of season prizes are all ordered and should be on their way soon!

Thanks to the massive participation and everyone getting their membership dues paid we were able to load up on sweet prizes this year, it looks like at least the top 10 will be taking home a sweet prize.

If you want to be eligible to win an end of season prize you need to have paid your $10 membership or play 5 rounds with the $2 non-member fee.

We had a packed house with 18 players coming out (2 more and we payout the third place team ;) bring your friends)

We had a triple CTP night with the entire 18 hole layout:

Spooky Glow Recap 11.1.22

We had a nice group of 15 this week and some "killer" weather. We played 9 short and 9 long and had 4 cards spread out fairly well to keep the flow smooth.

We had a battle at the top with Steve/Gavin and Sean/Mike at -12, Kid/Brett and Eli/Chris H at -10. We did a CTP throw off on hole 1 to determine winners of first and second place and Sean/Mike snuck in a bit closer than Gavin/Steve to take home the larger share of the prize money.

Glow 11.1.22

Results from last week, BIG THANKS to Tom for running it in our absence.

Chris and Chris kept the trend of matching name doubles teams winning at-9, Kid/Mike were not far back with a -7 and Tom/Eli were hot on their heels at 3rd place.

Mike and Mike unfortunately broke the streak of matching name doubles teams winning, but at least it was easy to remember everyone's name.

Glow 10.18.22

We had 10 people brave the cold and rain for a fun glow doubles night.
Even though we did the long 18 hole layout there was some good shooting right out of the gate for Gavin/Travis and Kid/Randall and they finished -6 and -7 respectively.

Gavin won the cash CTP on 6 long
Travis won the merch (Color Glow Henna Bloomroos Roc3 and the Dynamic Discs hat) on 8 long

Thanks to all who came out. Next week Tom Stamper is going to run it while Todd and I are in Austin for the NADGT tourney.

Tuesday Glow Tomorrow

Looking forward to seeing some of you guys we haven't seen in awhile, we are back with our second round of glow. It's setup for 18 long so the door is open for anyone to score well in doubles.

Glow 10.12.22

We had a great night to play glow, it was 70 degrees and no wind. Welcome our new comers Eli R and Nate K it was fun getting to play a round with a couple new folks. We played short 9 / long 9.

Sean D/Chris K went 9 for 9 on the shorts and missed a couple putts on the longs to end at -11 and as impressive as that is Eli and Gavin went 12 for 12 to start and ended at -16! That's a new doubles record for the league.
