The Carmichael Park Disc Golf Wednesday Handicap League
Weeklies will be held every Wednesday at Carmichael Park. We meet next to hole 7. Signups will be at 5pm, start time at 6:00pm. Rain or shine. Dark or light. Bring your glow discs and flashlights during the wintertime. There are lights, but it does help pick up the game when they are easier to see.
How much to play
It is 7 dollars to play the weekly. 5 dollars goes to the payout, 1 dollar to the ace fund, 1 dollar to course improvements. Juniors can play their first 3 events to establish their handicap for free. Course funds have provided improvements such as baskets and cement tees. We will always be looking for feedback on any other course improvements.
There is a side pot, 3 dollars to the top raw score of the day divided by divisions. Winner takes all unless there are 10 or more players then top two. Divisions are Pro, Amateur and women.
There is also a quarter jar for bogey free rounds. If there are more than one bogey free round scores turned in, the pot carries over. Ladies qualify with a card of no double bogeys.
Points and standings
1st place - 6 pts + 2pts = 8
2nd place – 4 pts + 2pts = 6
3rd place – 2pts + 2pts = 4
4th place – 1pts + 2pts = 3
Top 4 places in points after 24 weeks will receive trophies.
Extra points
Every player will receive 2 points (see above) for completing one round of 18 holes. Must finish round, if you leave early, scorecard is disqualified for handicaps and points.
Handicaps
The way you establish your handicap is by completing 3 complete rounds of 18. The first three weeks of the league is to establish a handicap. Anybody who has not established a handicap or is a new member will be subject to the following rule. If they score under par their first time playing, their raw score will be used, but they cannot score better than a -1. If the players score is over par 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounds (not established handicap) their score shall be the actual score thrown until three rounds of 18 are complete. You cannot establish a handicap and use it the same day. Currently the cap on handicaps is a +9 (Nine over par). The handicap formula is the following. (Your average – course average) times 90 percent. Currently we are taking your last 5 scores for the handicaps. Older scores will be dropped off every five weeks.
Payouts
Payout will always be 40% of total field. All ties playoff at designated area to basket 6. If you leave before playoff you will receive the lowest cash of the tied group.
All official PDGA rules will be in effect!
Bag Tags to be played within your own groups.
Hole 1 will have the player with the coveted bus keys, these keys provide bunker protection for those familiar with the "Woodland Bets" (Bunker, Dirt, Anti-Dirt)
