About this league
Fee per round $5
April's Fools makes it's 2019 to a new location for this year!! League will begin March 31st and run through April 28th. League will begin at 11 AM. For any of you who have played April's Fools or the legendary March Madness at Punderson, you know it is the easily the most fun and greatest league the NEO has ever experienced.
The course will be played as an 18 hole layout, with wacky mandos, targets, and other random items acting as "stroke erasers" or "stoke penalties" that will be on each hole and scattered throughout the course. Course par will be set as 55, as one hole each week will be made a par 4. Targets and mandos may change week to week, adding to the challenge and strategy needed to conquer this league. Target sheets will be used each week and given to each card to ensure there is a proper understanding of each mando, "stroke eraser," or "stroke penalty" that will be on each hole.
The league will act as a Points Series, with the League Champion being awarded the coveted April's Fools trophy. Points can be earned each week by donating prizes for the post-round raffle, assisting in course set-up or take down (since this will have to be done weekly), donating targets to the league, and through league round finish. Additional points can be earned with 0s (target assisted 0 off drive (includes hitting a target and getting a natural ace or using the portal and portal hoop to get a score of 0) - 30 points) and Aces (natural - 25 points, target-assisted ace off drive- 15 points, multiple target assisted ace - 10 points). Points can also be penalized for other items like being late or general douchebaggery that is not allowed at tthis league. There will be a clear list of how points can be earned (or lost) listed in the News section of this page. We will also have custom bag tags that will be handed out each week and then redistributed based on weekly finish. These bag tags will also be used for the post-round raffle for any extra prizes we have to give away on a weekly basis. There will also be a random CTP each week for a special prize.
Round's will begin at 11 AM each scheduled Sunday, with a $5 entry each week and a $1 ace fund. If no aces are hit at the end of each round, 50% of the ace fund payout will be decided via CTP, with the remaining 50% rolling over until the next week. At the end of the season, if no aces are hit, the Rolling Ace Pot will be then be thrown off for after the last league round, with winner taking all with a CTP. Mulligans will also be available, with 6 for $5, or $1 each (maxed at 6). Lowest mulligans used will also be used as a tie breaker for any ties that may occur. All proceeds raised from Mulligans will go to cover league supplies, including some target supplies, bag tags, and additional prizes for the league finale. Max buy in with entry, ace fund, and Mulligans will be $11. $5 league entry is the only required cost to participate each week.
Each league round, the top 1-5 scores will be paid out each week, depending on turnout. If there is 4 or less, one spot will be paid. If there is 5-7, 2 spots will be paid. If there is 8-12, 3 places get paid. 13-15 players will payout the top 4. 16+ players will payout top 5. Payout scale is below:
1 payout -- 1st - 100%
2 payouts - 1st - 60%, 2nd - 40%
3 payouts -- 1st - 50%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%
4 payouts -- 1st - 45%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 20%, 4th - 10%
5 payouts -- 1st -- 40%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd, 20%, 4th - 10%, 5th - 5%
(payout amount is 100% of league entry fees for that league round)
Please keep in mind this is not April's Fools from 2018 or March Madness. There will be different targets and use of the course. We will do our best to model the league in it's previous image, but things will not be exactly set up as in the past. You will see some new targets and target placement, and a lot of more chances to add strokes to your score. There will be holes each week (may be different week to week), with negative targets in play and some other surprises that we have in store. The Jester targets will return for 2019, and they will also be the image used on the Bag Tags. Most holes will have "Stroke Erasers," but the chance to hit both good and bad targets may exist on some holes. There will also be some Mandos in play that change the way the holes are played. This will make each round fresh and exciting, and make a whole new fun and wacky way to play The Pond!!!
So Please come out and have some fun at Painesville beginning March 31st. Spread the word and let's make this another great and wacky year of April's Fools!!
