Final Results posted!!

Sorry for the delay...but the final week of league's results have been posted, including all points totals for the season.

Congrats to Tim for taking the League Championship and the coveted April's Fools trophy for 2019!! He had a narrow 2 point victory that was down to the last day over 2nd place finisher Dan Cogan. Well done and great battle you two!!

Next year, the league may move to Sims Park. I'm thinking a 3 year rotation for league, with 2018 at Pundy, 2019, at The Pond, followed up by 2020 at Sims. Then we will go back to Pundy and start the rotation over again in 2021.

Thanks to all the people who came out to support this league for 2019. It's a lot of work to keep this going, and I had a lot of hands on deck each week to help make it successful. A huge thanks needs to go to Dave Hotchkiss, Rick Falstreau, Tex Kimbro, Thomas Norman, and Dan Cogan who were there each week to help get things set up. A bunch of others helped on multiple occasions, but this group was instrumental in helping keep things going, and I really appreciate it.

League Finale Tomorrow!!

11 AM start...a champion will be named!!! The trophy will be on hand to go to it's rightful winner. There's quite a few people in the mix, and a league ace or a couple target aces could easily be what decides the championship. Those set up and take down points are crucial as well!! Prize donations will max a 3 total tomorrow so that is not what the deciding factor is in naming a champion for this year.

As a result, the CTP cereal prize will be moved to hole 13, and the FMH will stay as is on hole 6. If an ace is hit, the CTPs become null and the money will go to the person who hit the ace.

Also, we will have CTPs for the ace fund this coming week. The ace fund is currently at $75, so with the ace fund entries from the final week, we should be at about $90-100. All of this will go to 4-5 CTPs for cash, with the pot split between the number of holes used. This will be holes 3, 7, 9, and 13...with possibly hole 4 added to the mix if we get up to $100. If an ace is hit, the CTPs become null, and the ace fund will go to the person who hits an ace if that were to happen.

Let's close this season out with a bang and get everyone who participated at least once out for the final day of fun. Some special raffle prizes will be given away, so you don't want to miss out!!!

Keep in mind that bonus points are earned for Target Aces, helping set up or take down, returning targets at the end of the round (if you can't stick around to help with the rest), target donations, and prize donations. So earn those extra points and make a move for the coveted league championship trophy!!!

Target Ace Rules Changes

After getting a league consensus today, the following points will be given for league aces, target aces included:

Target Ace using Multiple Targets on a hole -- 10 points
Target Ace of Drive using one Target -- 15 points
Natural Ace -- 25 points
Target 0 -- 30 points

Target aces will not include the use of the Wheel of Misfortune. If you land on "Subtract -1 stroke" and score a 2, becoming a 1 with the subtracted stroke, that is not a target ace. A target must be used to gai ... more

After getting a league consensus today, the following points will be given for league aces, target aces included:

Also, adjustments have been made to the Week 1 points with these rules. Dan Sutterlin still gets credit for a target ace and gets 15 points with no change. Both Bruce Shirer and Thomas Norman used multiple targets to get their aces, so they each will receive 10 points for these aces. This subtracts 5 points from Thomas's score, as it was originally conveyed as a Target Ace off the drive. Two targets were used. Bruce Shirer gains five points, as before league vote, 5 points was given for the multiple target ace. Points have been adjusted for week 1, and everything should be correct.

Week two results and points updates will come Wednesday this week.

Thanks to the 26 golfers who came out for week 2! I'm only down to 2 bag tags now and will be probably order 10 more to make sure we have enough.

League Schedule Update -- Easter Sunday

Seeing as Easter is Sunday, April 21st...I've decided to cancel league that day so people can do their usual Easter plans and not miss league. In doing so, I have extended league one more week and added May 5th as the final day of league so we can keep it as a 5 week league as originally planned.

Week 3 will still go on next week as planned with the usual 11 AM start.

Target Aces

Looks like I didn't specify points for a target ace where a score of 1 is earned on a hole with the use of a target. I looked back to last year and we did not award points for this...only for a score of 0 when targets are used. I've decided target aces should be worth something. So with 0's (Target assisted Ace or use of Portal and Portal Hoop with a score of 0) will still be worth 30. Natural Aces will be worth 25, and Target Aces (score of 1 with use of a target on DRIVE ONLY) will be worth 15 points.

Extra League Points!!

Don't forget....league points can be earned by helping set up and take down each week!! So come out a little early and lend a hand to get some extra league points and increase your chances for that coveted league championship trophy!!

Also, each week there will be a raffle based on bag tag numbers. A few prizes each week be donated by the league. But other prizes donated by league members will help everybody have a chance to walk away with a little something and help the donor earn mo ... more

The 2019 April's Fools league begins next Sunday with an 11 AM start!!! Be ready to have some fun!! We will have target "cheat sheets" for all cards explaining the target rules, as some are good and some are bad. Be ready to play some holes a little differently, as we have a few Mandos to change the way a couple holes are played. OB will be increased on some holes, and there will be plenty of chances for a target ace or target 0 with what we have in store.

OB will be increased on some holes, and there will be plenty of chances for a target ace or target 0 with what we have in store.

Funds breakdown for entry are as follows:

$5 buy-in (required)
$5 Mulligans (optional -- 6 for 5 that can be used on any hole at any time. they will also serve as tiebreakers for ties, with the least used getting the advantage)
$1 Ace fund (rolling ace fund through the whole league, with CTPs on the final day if an ace fund remains)

Payouts:
All $5 from the required buy-in goes to the pot. For those who buy mulligans, $2 of each mulligan will also be added to the pot, with the other $3 to go towards bag tags, league suppliers, and other prizes. This means $5-7 of each $10 entry goes into the payout pot for each week. Payouts will go as follows:
1-4 players -- 1st -- 100% of the pot
5-7 players -- 1st -- 70%, 2nd -- $30
8-11 players -- 1st -- 50%, 2nd -- 30%, 3rd -- 20%
12-20 players -- 1st -- 40%, 2nd -- 30%, 3rd -- 20%, 4th -- 10%
20+ players -- 1st -- 40%, 2nd -- 25%, 3rd -- 20%, 4th -- 10%, 5th -- 5%

After each round, there will be bag tags handed out based on league finish. The best score gets the lowest tag. These tag numbers will then be used for the post-league raffle. So be sure to bring some extra prizes so that you can earn extra league points and we can have everyone walk out of there with a little something each week. Donations can be anything and don't have to be disc golf related. It can be a candy bar, beer, or anything else. Humorous prizes are encouraged.

Each week we will have the following extra in-round prizes to give out:

CTP -- Hole 3 (box of cereal)
FMH (Farthest Metal Hit) -- Hole 5 (candy bar)
FIB (First in Basket) -- Hole 1 -- each card (beverage TBD)

Please keep in mind this is a points league. I have decided that points will also be earned for the CTP and FMH winners each week. The best way to earn extra points is to come out and lend a hand setting up. Those who help set-up will earn 2 points each week. Those who help take down and gather targets each week will also earn 2 points. So if you help set up, take down, and bring a raffle prize, that's 5 extra points a week you can earn!!! The League Champion (determined by points at the end of the year) will get the coveted April's Fools Trophy an the admiration of your peers!! If you have any questions, let me know. But it will be explained each round so that all players understand the rules and how points are lost or gained.

Points are lost by:

Being late for league - We start at 11 sharp!!! If you are late, you will have 1 point deducted from you overall points standing.

Forgetting a bag tag - If you do not bring your bag tag to league, you will be deducted 1 point from your overall points standing.

Losing a bag tag - If a bag tag is lost, 3 points will be deducted from your overall points standing.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct - if you are arguing, fighting, or causing and unnecessary problem during league, you will have 1-3 points deducted from your overall standing. This must be a card / group consensus, with the league participants from that week voting on the amount of points deducted for the infraction.

This league is aimed to be silly and fun, yet competitive. Please keep a good attitude and understand everybody is dealing with the same tomfoolery. It isn't called April's Fools for nothing!!!!
