10 week Spring singles league. There will be a one time $10 entry ($3 league fee, $7 for bag tag, unless you are currently already in the NRC league), $3 ea. week to play, both of which will go to upkeep/maintenance of the course and prizes throughout the season (CTP, Longest Putt etc). There will also be an optional $2 Ace pool with a 100% payout, 75% rolled over into the following season league if no one hits. If you are a current PDGA member you can also pay $1 to have your rounds recorded for your PDGA rating.
Points will be awarded each round, 2 points for participation, 1 point for placement in top 5 for the week (1st - 5 pts, 2nd - 4 pts, etc). An Ace will get you 10 points. There will be some type of prize (merch/cash?) for the player with the most points at the end of the 10 weeks.
This is also a Bag Tag League. Tags are $7 for league members, $15 for nonmembers. Rules are as followed:
Conduct:
First and foremost, have fun, it's only a tag! Everyone is on their honor to conduct themselves according to the rules and within the spirit of competition. The purpose of the Bag Tag Challenge is to encourage friendly competition among NorthRidge Church Disc Golf players.
In order for the Bag Tag Challenge to work, all challenges MUST be accepted.
Each player must have their Bag Tag at all times. Bag Tags must be plainly visible and can not be hidden.
Challenges are to be made by choosing times and courses that are reasonable.
Friendly side wagers of any kind can be made at the discretion of the participants, but are NOT required.
LEAGUE NIGHT CHALLENGES: All MUST participate. We will be doing 2 types of challenges during league play. 1) All-in: Everyone playing throws their tags in a pool before play begins, tags distributed at the end of play in order of scores lowest to highest. In a tie score the lower number goes to the person who had the lower number prior to play beginning. No sudden death playoff. 2) Card Challenge: Challenge is between people on the same card ONLY. Players keep their tags at the beginning of play and exchange after finished lowest to highest score.
INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES: These are challenges on any other day outside of league play. The higher Bag Tag challenges the lower Bag Tag. Challenges must be for a tag withing 10 places of the challenger (i.e. #30 cannot challenge #1, must challenge #20 or higher and then move on from there). The challenged player must give the challenger two (2) times to meet in the next two (2) weeks or they must forfeit the tag. If the challenger can not meet that timeline, the challenge is void. Not showing up for a match results in a forfeit. (20 minute leeway unless notified and agreed upon). The challenged player picks the course, tees and format. Format choices include: stroke play or match play. PDGA rules apply. If the challenger wins the round, the tags are exchanged.
Ties are won by the holder of the lower bag tag at the beginning of the round. However, if ALL players agree before the round starts; a play-off hole(s) can be used as a tie-breaker using sudden death rules.
You don't have to play back-to-back challenge rounds against the same player or in a multi-player match with the exact same opponents. A player can't challenge you, lose to you, and immediately challenge you again for another round. However, if ALL parties agree, consecutive round challenges are allowed. Challenges MUST be verbally agreed upon at the beginning of EACH round.
Incomplete round: If a player does not complete a bag tag challenge round, the exiting player should trade tags with the player with the highest tag number. If play is stopped by all players before the round is complete, no tags are exchanged. This could be due to hazardous weather, physical emergency or mutual agreement.
Multiple people at the same course at the same time can have a group challenge with 5 or less playing in the group. If more than 5 are present the group must split into cards of at least 3 and play proceeds as if it were a tournament/league.
Reporting
Players holding tags must update the club with the results of each challenge. It is preferred to post on the bag tag challenge post on the NorthRidge Church Disc Golf discgolfscene.com page forum.
The winner of the challenge is responsible for reporting the results of the challenge.
