Rules:
1) Tags must be attached to bags/carts and carried whenever you are playing.
2) You may challenge anyone carrying a tag
3) The challenge must be accepted by each participant before the beginning of the round to be valid.
4) Challenges are to be accepted, but circumstances may make it possible to be refused (time, injury, etc)
5) You may not hide your tag (in a pocket, etc) when you have a lower number tag. It is required to engage in a challenge at least 2 times a month, not including the scheduled events (this will be monitored).
6) If you leave during a challenge round (for any reason), you will forfeit your tag and graciously accept the highest numbered tag in the group.
7) In case of a tie, the match goes to sudden-death. You replay the course (starting from a mutually agreed upon hole) until someone wins a hole outright. For multiple player ties, same concept applies.
8) The current tag season will begin Saturday March 19 and will remain active until the league party October 1.
9) If you lose your tag, you may be able to PURCHASE a new one for $5.
10) This is meant to be a fun event to challenge your fellow disc golfer. Anyone caught cheating or holding out (or purposely not bringing your tag) will be dealt with by the local players and will probably involve public ridicule.
11) Bag Tag matches during tournaments are automatic. Get together before the tournament starts so everyone knows what’s going on. At the conclusion of the tournament the person you won the lowest Bag Tag is in charge on making sure all tags are changed and is responsible for posting everyone’s scores to the website. (If Bryan Earvin is present at the tournament, he will handle this for everyone)
12) Tournaments and different divisions: if a tournament has different divisions playing different layouts, the competitor’s will split into common layout groups for the challenge. This can be overruled if everyone in that particular challenge agrees.
13) We’ll be utilizing www.discgolfscene.com to keep track of league standings. If you don’t already have an account there, please sign up for one using the email address or your PDGA# that was give when you purchased the tag. The account is free. If you use your email address or PDGA# you supplied me, your account will automatically be linked to the 2016 Darkside DGC Bag Tag Challenge when I add your information.
14) At the completion of each challenge, you must get the results to me via posting your scorecard onto our Tag Rounds CHAT. PLEASE POST PROMPTLY so the database stays updated accurately. IMPORTANT: The only way this will work is if I am contacted. The winner of the match is the one that is obligated to post. If I am not contacted and there is a discrepancy in tag numbers, the website will be the source of truth and tags will be redistributed. Can’t stress how important it is to report all challenges.
15) League Days: we will have league days every other week rotating from Tuesdays and Saturdays. There will be a morning and evening tee time for each day. $1 Ace pool for all league days.
16) Prizes: Will be centered around the season ending league party. There will be CTP prize on league days. Will have prizes for top 10 finishing tags, among other things
17) For the Season ending Party we will have a doubles round paired by high-low tag finish. 2 tiers: for those that appear at 8 or more league days, go to top tier, 7 or less go to bottom tier. Cash payouts for finish in doubles round.
18) Initial Tags will be handed out at the season opening "Tag In" event. the order will begin with those that participated in the Match Play tournament to close 2015, then go by results of the Tag In.
19) Please see the Darkside Facebook page for further announcements and explanation of things
20) You may text message/call me if you have any questions, problems, etc. Bryan Earvin – 616-209-2070
