Reminder--Doubles start at 5:20 at FAIRMONT tonight.
We will play 16 holes tonight: 1, 2, 6, 5, 3, 4, 9-18. (Skipping 7 & 8)
I would have suggested we skip 2 and 6, but after Alan did such a nice job clearing out 6, I thought we ought to play that hole!
Pass it on!
After some discussion at league last night, we have decided to move the league to FAIRMONT for the remainder of the season to allow more people to arrive by start time.
Oct 15th 5:25pm at Fairmont
Oct 22nd 5:20pm at Fairmont
Oct 29th 5:15pm at Fairmont
Just noticed that Daylight savings time will allow us one more week of Doubles League than I originally posted last Spring. We will play every Tuesday through the end of October. October 29th has been added to the schedule. Pass the word.
Sorry I've nearly drained the Ace Pool over the last two weeks! Here is a little accounting for those who might be curious. After everyone paid in last week, Sept 24th, we had $246.00 in the Ace Fund. After I Aced hole 15 that night, I received $206.00 for the ace, holding back $20 for each hundred in the fund. This left $40.00. After everyone paid this evening, we had $56.00 in the ace fund. After I aced hole 15, I received $46.00 for the ace, holding back $10 for every $50 in the fund. This left $10.00. If someone aces before the fund reaches $50 again, the balance will go to Zero.
After a 6 year drought, I hit a league ace two weeks in a row! This time at Fairmont, Hole 2, glancing off the left side tree and falling almost silently into the basket.
I'll bey you called it before you threw it. "Off that tree, nothing but basket".
This is really late timing to be moving league for tonight, so if you get this message, please help me by contacting any doubles players you know of by whatever means you have. Doubles tonight, 5:35 start time, at Fairmont!
I have no idea why a State Park would be closed because the Federal Govt. is shut down... but I am taking Adam's word for it that Tuttle Creek River Pond is closed. So, tonight's doubles league will be at Fairmont Park, starting at 5:35. Meet at the West Parking lot.
Ya. That's what the lady at On The Wildside said when I was in there today (showing her a draft of their tee signs). She said the EAST gate was open this morning.
Thanks for that link Jon. I just scrolled through the Tuttle Creek State Park facebook page. They're pretty proud of all their projects... hmm... ;-)
Congratulations to ... me... Kevin "RevKev" Clark, who hit an ace on hole 15!
The Ace Fund was at $246 after tonight's pay-in. According to our league rules, we will hold back $20 for every $100 in the fund (ie $40).
So the payout for tonight's ace is $206, with $40 carrying over for the next ace.
Well done Rev Kev! It was like it was in slow-mo for the last 30' of the toss...
Starting this week, Doubles League starts 5 minutes earlier each week.

Starting PROMPTLY at 5:45 tonight!
Next Tuesday, September 17th, will be the last Tuesday of this season that we start doubles at 5:45. Starting the following week, we will move up the start time by 5 minutes every week in order to finish in daylight. If you're not sure about the start time, you can click on the "Schedule" tab for doubles league here on Discgolfscene to find out when we start.
Tonight's League will definitely be at Tuttle. Only one basket was missing as of Saturday. I will bring a portable in case they don't have it in yet. Hope to see you all tonight!
Is there anyone willing to drive me into tuttle? I don't have a pass. I could meet whoever somewhere if that is easier.
I would have been willing, if I were going tonight. But I'm not. You could drive to that lookout place on the east entrance, or the west by the tubes, then wave down someone you recognize going in to play...
Yep, that's about it. Doubles at Fairmont tonight, June 25. Baskets are needed.
I have 4 portable baskets. We will need at least 4 more, possibly as many as 6. Please post to "talk" if you can bring one or more baskets this Tuesday. If bringing a basket, please try to show up early.
We will start doubles league at the usual time (5:45) this Tuesday, but the round will be played at FAIRMONT instead of Tuttle, due to the Country Music Stampede. We will play the new layout, but most likely with some modification. I will try to set things up so that we will play a total of 18 holes.
Hey everyone! Starting next Tuesday (June 18th) league will temporarily be moved to Fairmont Park due to the Country Music Stampede. We will need 10 temporary baskets to play the new course at Fairmont, so please bring what you have! If we don't have enough baskets, we will make adjustments, but still play a total of 18. See you at FAIRMONT this coming Tuesday...
I wont make league but I will give my basket to Thad or someone going to league so you will have mine
Congratulations to Scott Collins, who hit his FIRST ACE EVER on hole 9 with a Buzzz, taking home $220! Oh yeah, and he and Clouse also won the round with an 11 down! Nice shooting guys, and once again, congrats to Scott!
Another cold night... what is it about Tuesdays?! After a delayed start for hail and heavy rain. Ten hardy souls pushed through and managed to finish before it was too dark to see the baskets!
Well done, troopers... Well done!
Congratulations to A.J. Cruz and Rob Adams who tied the League record -14, set by Kevin Tulp and Kevin Zane in June of 2011! Great score on a cold night! You guys pretty much lapped the competition with the next best score at -7!
maybe we should skip 2 holes ppl tend to par like #1 and #13..that way we have more accurate scores...just a thought. take it or leave it. ;)
