Tomorrow is the final day of the SEASON for the DFOK 2011-2012 Flint Hills Bag Tag League & Points League.
(The new season with new tags will start in June (just like last year))
With that in mind, tomorrow night's “WARNER WEDNESDAY†will be a big night with final tag numbers and points standings on the line.
If that’s not motivation enough, all DFOK tag members in attendance tomorrow night will be able to compete for a Discs ...

Considering more rain will be rolling through the area today, I thought I should remind everyone of the Weather Rules for the Warner Wednesday league.
We play in the rain, no matter how hard it is falling from the sky. Yes, it could be messy & miserable, but if it's ONLY rain league will be played as scheduled. Look at it as practice for that rainy tournement you'll eventually be playing in... (b/c most disc golf tournements are played rain or shine).
HOWEVER, if the Nation ...

CONGRATULATIONS to Adam J for scoring (yet another) league round ACE this week. Excellent way to start off the new year!
As some of you might have noticed, Adam scored far more points (20 more) than his position on the score board might suggest. Why is that? (No, it's not a typo.) According to league rules, if you nail an ace during a points league event, you get 20 INSTANT BONUS POINTS.
Well done Adam!
Do you find yourself this morning wondering if today's FIRST Sunday of the month is an official League Day?O
YES, TODAY Sunday Jan. 1st, is a holiday but it's also an official points (& bag tag) league day.
So, come on out to Warner Park this afternoon to Celebrate the New Year by playing a league round!
Cheers
CONGRATULATIONS to Adam J for scoring an ACE at league this week. That's one way to start off strong at your first ever league contest! BAM!

Way to rock the chains to Adam!
REMINDER: All Bag Tag League Members & Prospective Members!
Today, Sunday November 6th, is the first round of the fall/winter segment of the Bag Tag & Points league schedule (1st & 3rd Sundays of each month).
League START TIME is at 1:30pm so be sure to arrive to WARNER PARK plenty early to check in and warm up in advance of the 1:30pm tee time. See previous NEWS posts on DiscGolfScene for more details.
NOTE: When checking in / signing up this week, be sure to find MARK KEWLEY as he will be running league this week in the absence of Rick Petrie.
Due to diminishing daylight in the evenings, our Wednesday part of the season has concluded (until next spring). Starting in November, our 2011 Bag Tag & Points league will shift into the winter/weekend part of the schedule.
The Official Flint Hills Bag Tag League & Points League rounds will be held at the Warner Park Disc Golf Course ON THE 1ST & 3RD SUNDAY EACH MONTH. Tee time for these Sunday league rounds will be 1:30pm. Please check-in & warm-up in time to be ready to play at 1:30pm. (Brrrrr)
So, let the discs & snow flakes fly!
CONGRATULATIONS to Jeremy Gentry for banging the chains for an ACE on #8 at league tonight. That's how to throw down on your league night debut! Well Done, Good Job!
As some of you might have noticed, Jeremy scored far more points (20 more) than his position on the score board might suggest. Why is that? (No, it's not a typo.) According to league rules, if you nail an ace during a points league event, you get 20 INSTANT BONUS POINTS. BAM!

Cheers to Jeremy!
If you played league last week, the following probably does not surprise you at all.
Due to the days becoming shorter every week, we are starting to once again have "Daylight Issues" at the end of league night (predicted sunset for 8/24 is 8:09pm, with total darkness only minutes later. Ouch! ). So, we're going to have to revert back to some things we did in the Spring.
START TIME 5:30: I realize this will cause some problems for a few people but the time has come to move th ...

Nice to see such a good turn out tonight. Thanks to all 26 players, plus Mr. Sam, who attended tonight.
I'm sorry to report that I will not be able to post tonight's POINTS SERIES information until sometime tomorrow.
(so don't stay up waiting for them)
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Rick
Thank you to everyone out there that decided to play league tonight despite the sweltering heat! Only disc golfers who are FANATICAL would play in weather like we had tonight. Thanks to all!
After playing only two events this year, The Kick-Off tourney & the first Warner Wednesday, we already have a TIE at the top of the points race (Laughlin & Zane), then two more players tied for 4th & 5th... and on down the line. If that's any indication, this is going to be an exciting po ...

Prize/dollar amounts were determined by paying out ALL money that remained, after expenses. Thus, 100% of this season’s profit went back to player prizes. The gift certificates for the Points League season were received late last week, and then distributed to the players on Friday & Saturday (amidst the hype of the 2012 Little Apple Open activities). There was no “Award Ceremonyâ€, per say.
Thanks to Discs Unlimited for all of their support this season, plus for adding a few bucks to each competitor’s final dollar amount.
A BIG thanks to all who participated in the 2011-2012 Points League Season. Especially for gracefully enduring the growing pains related to this league. When going from 45 players last season, to 122+ (plus a few who resigned) this year, we were apt to have our ups & downs. All & all though, I do believe we are headed in the right direction.
Also, thank you to Mark Kewley for all he has done for this league. Especially for helping navigate through another season of tough decisions, plus for pushing to move this league to more of a club effort in the coming seasons.
Sincerely,
Rick
P.S. Be sure to keep your eyes on the Disc Fanatics of Kansas club page on discgolfscene.com (http://www.discgolfscene.com/clubs/Disc_Fanatics_of_Kansas) to find out when our next DFOK club meeting will occur. One of the primary topics of discussion will be the 2012-2013 Points League.
