Thanks for coming out this summer, everyone! Hope too many people didn't finish in the dark last night.

Payouts for week 10 will go out in the next couple of days. The ace pot will roll over to the winter league since it's just $13.

Speaking of, I've sort of mapped out the calendar to avoid this darkness issue towards the end. Winter leagues will start on Saturday, November 20, and if we do two leagues of 10 rounds each, we'll finish the first week of April. If we start "summer" leagues the LAST week of April, we can get 20 weeks in and finish the first week of September rather than the third week.

My tentative plan this winter is to do the first league with pools, like this one, and then once we have all that good data for how the courses play in the winter, I'll do a points-per-stroke handicap league for the second winter league.

This league was a learning experience - I'm going to try and get 20 weeks of summer league in next year too, but I'll try to shift it a couple weeks earlier in the year so that we don't run into darkness.

Congrats to Jake Haskin for taking down A Pool AND the ace pot last week! New ratings are out this week, so it's possible you moved up or down a division. If you want to play in a division higher than your automatic one, let me know BEFORE the round starts.

Week 8 is at Peter's Creek - we are going to start at 6:30 sharp from here on out, because the sun has started setting earlier these days! Be there by 6:15 so I can make up the cards...if you're going to be later than 6:15, try and let me know. Also try to keep your group moving so we don't have to play the last few holes in twilight.

Week 6 payouts posted - I'll get them actually paid later tonight. Just a note, I didn't mention that we're not doing any playoffs, even for first place. Last week Jake and Brian played off, and because they sort of mutually agreed that this was for first, I'm going to do the payout as if Jake won (congrats!), but in the future, you don't have to do a playoff for ties.

Sorry I didn't do week 1 earlier! It was raining, but 11 folks still came out, and shot pretty good if I say so myself. Lots of 51s, which was the hot round in both A and B Pool. Jake Haskin, Justin Dunker, and myself tied for first in A Pool, and Rod Stepp took down B Pool solo. Ratings were pretty brutal, IMO, and they'll probably improve once other rounds are added to the mix (when the league is submitted finally).

Week 2 had great turnout and great weather, 15 folks. The ace pot drama was ended early, on the first throw of the round, by Chad McCaffrey, who took the local route on hole 1 to splash into the basket. First ace we've had since the final round of winter leagues!

In non-ace news, Joe Caissie played a bogey-free round to take down A Pool. Rod "one" Stepp "ahead of everyone else" took down his second straight B Pool with a 53. Kristin White pulled off the 7-10 split of leagues, managing to finish in both first and last place in C Pool, with an extremely solid 59.

VERY tight scores this week, with over half the field shooting either 54 or 55. Feels like that's pretty much what I shoot every time I come out to PC. Hope to see you all next week at Davis!
