About this league

Welcome to the 2020 CCR Summer Singles League!

There will be some changes to the way we run our disc golf league this summer to take into account recommendations based on state and federal guidelines for minimizing the risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission.

In regards to those recommendations, there are some things we used to do that we cannot think of a good way to do this summer, such as: Weekly optional 50/50, weekly CTP Prizes, and CCR Bag Tags.

However, with some reasonable accommodations, I believe we can still have a fun and competitive league this year!

Signup:
League signup will be via the disc golf scene comments page, or by emailing [email redacted] your name, PDGA#, and the division you would like to play.
All League entry fees must be paid via PayPal to [email redacted] and will be due by the second week of league. I realize not everyone has a PayPal account, if you need to make other arrangements for entry fee payments, please email [email redacted] to discuss alternate options.

Divisions:
We will have the same divisions for league play that we have in the past – Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, Masters (40+ age protected) and Women.

As of now, there is no plan to offer 10 weeks of sanctioned play as we have done in the past, but if players express interest, we can offer it.

Entry fees:
Elite division entry will be $50 and division winners 1st 2nd and 3rd place will receive a cash payout at the end of the season.

All other divisions will be $35 and each division with 5 or more players will award a basket to the division winner at the end of the season, to be shipped to your home.
All division entry fees will include a CCR Stamped Disc and CCR League Dri-Fit shirt as well. These will be pre-packaged for pickup or available to be shipped.

Ace Pool:
The Ace Pool will be optional, and will be set at $1 per week to accommodate the way that we are requesting buy in. Buy in will be done in one payment by PayPal to [email redacted]. The league will run for 12 weeks, and as such buy in to the Ace Pool will be $12 total. This can be paid in addition to your league entry fee.
For every league player who buys into the Ace Pool, $1 of their contribution will be added into the available Ace Pot per week.

For example; if we have 20 players paid into the Ace Pool, the club will be holding $240 reserved for total payout. Week one, $1 from each player will be added into the available Ace Pot for that week, and the Ace Pot for week one will be $20. If no one hits an ace week one, the pot will increase again by $1 per player for week two, making the Ace Pot for week two a total of $40. This will repeat each week.

Once an ace is hit, the player who threw the ace (providing they were in the ace pool) will be awarded the current value of the Ace Pot, and the pot will be reset to $0.
The following week, the Ace Pot will again grow by $1 per player until the next ace is hit ($20 in this example). If two players hit an ace in the same week, they will split the current value of the Ace Pot.

Playing and scoring your round:
All rounds must be played according to the posted schedule, on the scheduled day and at the scheduled course. There is no longer a 6 pm standard start time, so rounds can be played at any time. Players will be responsible for arranging a card of 3-4 fellow league players to play their round with. Rounds can be coordinated however is easiest for players, via direct communication between players or by arrangements made in the comments section of the league page.

Each player must keep score for all players on the card, we recommend that is done via the Udisc app, though any score keeping app can be used. Score cards must be submitted from each player on the card, showing scores for all players on the card via emailing a screen shot to [email redacted].

Scores can also be kept on paper cards, with a photo of the card emailed to [email redacted] as well, provided scores for all players are visible on the card.

Rounds will not be scored until a card is received from each player on the card showing the scores for all players on the card.

Players will be responsible for ensuring their group is no larger than 4 players, and that players maintain proper social distancing while playing their rounds.

Division Scoring:
Scoring in your division will be based on the number of players in your division. 2 points will be awarded to every player for playing and finishing a league round. Players will be awarded an additional 2 points for each player in their division that they beat that week.
For example: If your division has 10 players, for winning the round (shooting the best score in your division) you would be awarded 2 points for playing and finishing, and 18 points for beating 9 other players for a total of 20 points. Second place will receive 18 points, third place 16 points and so on.

In the case of a tie, both (or all, in the case of three or more tying scores) players are awarded 2 points for playing and finishing, 2 points for every player that they beat, and 1 additional point will be awarded to each tying player.

For example: If a division of 10 players has a tie for best overall score in the division, both players will be awarded 2 points for playing and finishing, and 16 points for beating 8 other players, plus 1 additional point for the tie, for a total of 17 points.

Drops:
At the end of the season, we will drop your two worst scoring rounds from your overall league point total (for all players) and final standings will be based on that point total.
